When they arrived at Tae Hong’s house, Hae Jin’s tension instantly melted away. Until she got home, she kept feeling as if the back of her head was burning.

She couldn’t glare at Tae Hong and scold him for holding her hand back there.

Everyone already knew anyway—holding hands had just confirmed exactly how close they really were. After all, among people about to get married, holding hands wasn’t such a big deal they’d call her dramatic for it.

But she had never even imagined walking hand in hand with Tae Hong in front of their teammates.

She’d thought they’d only see that kind of scene when she walked down the aisle toward the groom on her wedding day—yet this had happened far too soon.

“Ha.”

Even after a week-long vacation, her fatigue showed no sign of lifting. She couldn’t understand why the exhaustion she’d barely shaken off was rushing back again.

“Tired?”

Tae Hong edged closer to Hae Jin and placed his hand on her shoulder. The way he started massaging it didn’t seem casual at all.

“I don’t think you’re the one to talk about the cause of my tiredness.”

She shot him a sharp look, but Tae Hong merely made a face as if his heart had just been bombed—and kept kneading her shoulder.

“If you’d just held my hand back there, huh.”

Since they’d already argued about it the whole way here, Hae Jin decided not to bring it up again. Besides, her shoulders were feeling pleasantly relieved, and her fatigue seemed to fade a little.

Because of Tae Hong’s contradictory mix of causing trouble and then soothing her, Hae Jin kept melting, then hardening again—over and over.

“We need to practice. That’s why I told you to practice ahead of time.”
