Standing in front of the front door, Tae Hong remained still without entering the password. Hae Jin, standing half a step behind him, tilted her body slightly to the side, wondering if something was wrong.

Then Tae Hong stepped aside. His hand moved toward the lock.

“Press it.”

It felt as if he were testing whether or not I knew the password. Hae Jin confidently entered the code. As soon as she heard the click of the lock disengaging, Tae Hong’s large hand gently stroked her hair.

That part was fine—but the moment they stepped inside, Tae Hong wrapped his arm around Hae Jin’s waist as if snatching her close.

“Landlady.”

Tae Hong pulled Hae Jin tightly into his embrace, burying his face against the nape of her neck. He took a deep breath, and her scent tickled his nose.

He’d been waiting for this moment, and now that it was real, it was even more intoxicating.

“Landlady?”

“You are the landlady.”

Images of everything she’d done herself flashed through her mind like a panorama, and her face flushed. The familiar password, the way she’d walked into his house so naturally—everything pleased Tae Hong.

“After staying here a few days…”

“It felt like my own home.”
