Even the sound of a cat crying couldn’t be heard—the quiet officetel hallway lights had all gone out.

The one waiting for permission, and the one hesitating to give it.

At Hae Jin’s slight movement, the sensor light turned on. It illuminated the darkness between them. Tae Hong didn’t miss the chance and slipped right in.

“Have you finished thinking?”

The time for deliberation took wasn’t long. She had simply hesitated to voice the answer. Instead of words, her eyelids slowly blinked.

If she refused, would he really leave quietly? Well, knowing he wasn’t the type to back down easily, she shook her head.

“I think I can at least offer you a glass of water.”

Hae Jin finally caught the unmistakably satisfied glint in his eyes.

“Please come up.”

When Hae Jin tried to pull the suitcase that had been pushed to the side, he grabbed the handle again.

The fingertips that brushed against his were burning hot. She really needed to cool her gradually heating heart with cold water, just as he had said.

“Since we’re at it, let me do it.”

He stretched out his hand, urging her to lead the way. Hae Jin let out a quiet short breath and walked ahead.

From the short distance walking home together, she was already nervous. The back of her head felt ticklish. She was busy wondering how her backside looked and all sorts of random thoughts.

7th floor—the floor where Hae Jin’s place was. Tae Hong had been looking around since earlier. Well, of course he’d never had reason to visit an old officetel like this.
