Throughout the arrival, Taehong kept laughing. He laughed endlessly. He laughed to the point where one might wonder if he was always this cheerful.
Laughing so much, there were times when Haejin discovered herself laughing along with him. Her face, stained with embarrassment, seemed to have lost its color in finding a way to respond.
“We’ve arrived.”
Haejin’s voice was so small it could have drilled into the ground. Suppressing her laughter, Taehong even took a breath.
“Wow, seems like you had fun.”
Who would have known how to skillfully cause misunderstandings dynamically? When he suggested going to the hospital, I naturally thought he was concerned. Haejin felt a slight sense of injustice.
I should have explained properly; the spark of misunderstanding was evident in him. The laughter that she thought she had held back faintly leaked out. In the car with the engine turned off, he clenched his fist tightly and expressed his dissatisfaction in his own way.
“How long are you going to keep laughing?”
Seriousness was the extra, and gravity was the appropriate sauce. An implicit expression of wishing he would stop laughing was also revealed.
“I’ll try not to laugh.”

He closed his mouth in a way that made it clear he was making an effort. But his eyes were still slightly squinted, as if he were still smiling.
“You’re too cute.”
Cute, cute. With another attack that suddenly came in, seriousness and gravity were pushed aside as her ears turned red.
Haejin barely calmed her feelings, and they headed to the hospital. Unable to visit the hospital empty-handed, Taehong went into the convenience store.
Even though he wasn’t there, echoes lingered in her ears.
Too cute, too. Too cute. Too cute.
When was the last time she heard the word cute? The more she thought about it, the more her face turned red, feeling embarrassed. She awkwardly avoided him, pretending to look at her phone or touching her fingers while leaving the convenience store.
“Let’s go.”
“Yes.”
She deliberately walked behind him. If she walked ahead, her face wouldn’t be visible, but there was no guarantee that the back of her head wouldn’t tingle.

Worried about his presence behind her, what if she accidentally tripped and fell? At that time, she might really cover her face with both hands and hide.
Knock, the door of the room where Bongsu was hospitalized opened. Whether he already knew about the visit or not, Bongsu was halfway up on the bed, waiting.
“Team leader, you didn’t have to come.”
Bongsu was glad to see him, but at the same time, he seemed sorry. Taehong gestured for him not to move, comforting him.
“Manager, how’s your health?”
After scanning the room and the bed one after another, Haejin asked. Bongsu scratched his head as if he were cool.
“Why did the accident happen the day before the business trip?”
As expected, he bowed his head like a sinner. But it wasn’t really his fault. How could you prevent an accident in advance? Haejin moved her hands left and right like wiping a window.
“Please don’t think like that.”
Taehong joined in there.
“Thanks to you, Manager Jeonghaejin must have experienced a lot.”

Surely, it was a comforting remark for Byungsoo. Why is my face turning red, though? I wonder how much the meaning of the experiences he mentioned aligns with what I think about experiences.
“Hahaha, yes. I’ve learned a lot.”
Haejin awkwardly responded with a forced laugh, like a malfunctioning machine. She did learn a lot, but the fact that she also learned many other things remained a secret until death.
“I’ll make sure to properly organize the business trip report, so don’t worry.”
Taehong brought a chair as if he were going to settle down. While doing so, he pulled the chair next to him with his long arms, urging Haejin to sit.
“It hurts to stand up.”
Though it was clearly a favor, Haejin, suddenly being spoken to in the hospital room, looked at Byungsoo with suspicion.
“Manager Lee, how long did they say your discharge would take?”
“There’s no set plan yet. I would feel less sorry if I could estimate it.”
“Don’t worry about that.”

Taehong didn’t think about the past incidents. He prioritized dealing with what had happened.
“There’s a gap without Manager Lee, so I was thinking…”
Taehong leaned toward Byungsoo. Following him, Haejin also lowered her body. It seemed like the three were having a secret meeting.
“Should we fill that gap with Manager Jeonghaejin?”
Haejin was surprised. Byungsoo, on the other hand, remained calm and composed.
“We also have Manager Kim Yeonjeong.”
Whether considering seniority or experience, Yeonjeong took precedence. Of course, Yeonjeong also had some additional workload due to work adjustments, nearing the point of being overwhelmed. Taehong was not unaware of this.
“Let’s consider it based on abilities.”
“Manager Jeong can handle it well.”
Byungsoo, perhaps now feeling less sorry, finally smiled.

“I felt sorry throughout the unpredictable hospitalization, but if the team leader decides, I can focus on treatment.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
