As Haegin opened the door, a large man’s shadow fell over her. Her gaze, which had been fixed somewhere on the floor, lifted to meet his eyes.
“Team Leader?”
Her eyes narrowed, reflecting her internal struggle. Instinctively, Haegin’s own brows furrowed, though for a different reason. She was desperately trying to hide the fact that she had been crying.
“Do you need something?”
Haegin tried her best to sound normal, but her voice betrayed her, sounding dampened.
However, Taehong didn’t respond to her question. His gaze, which had been looking down, quickly swept over her face.
Her pale, whitened face was like a blank canvas, revealing her true state. The redness of her cheeks and Taehong’s eyes wandering somewhere else indicated he was searching for a reason.
Being in front of him always made her feel exposed, and now, he seemed to be trying to find out why. His thick finger touched the tip of Haegin’s nose, eliciting a startled reaction from her and causing her lips to part slightly. Her breath, heightened by tears, was warm.
“Did you cry?”
“No.”

The sensation where he had touched her nose lingered.
“Don’t cry.”
His unexpected tenderness only intensified her emotions. Her instinct was to escape the situation, but there was nowhere to hide, especially with Taehong blocking the entrance with his imposing presence.
His penetrating gaze intensified in response to her feeble answer, but he only tilted his head quizzically.
“Why are you here if you don’t need anything?”
Taehong leaned closer towards Haegin, who gripped the door handle even tighter.
“Why are you crying if I’m blocking the way?”
She needed to leave, but she couldn’t.
“Was I not enough?”
Finally, her shoulders slumped in defeat.

Taehong returned to his office, tapping his fingers against the desk. He had seen Yeon-jung stomping into the break room shortly after the meeting ended.
Her pride must have been hurt.
Yeon-jung was a capable employee, but recently, she seemed more interested in perks than work, especially since it involved him.
Seeing Haegin, who was a valuable asset, made it clear to Taehong that there was no reason to hesitate. Adjusting the tasks was a natural step, and he saw no need to hold any feelings for a disgruntled Yeon-jung.
He saw Haegin and Byungsoo leaving the meeting room, and Byungsoo patting Haegin’s shoulder in encouragement.
Was that really necessary?
Byungsoo’s gesture towards Haegin strangely bothered him. And then, seeing Haegin head towards the break room, Taehong checked if Yeon-jung had returned to her seat. She hadn’t.
His body faced the door, but his mind was drawn towards the break room. Taehong followed his instinct, approaching the vicinity of the door. He could faintly hear the conversation inside.
He was curious but decided to wait instead of intruding.
What was he doing? Moon Taehong.
As Taehong passed by with a self-deprecating chuckle, he turned back to see Yeon-jung, who was now returning to her seat, still fuming more than before.

Did Haegin win?
The thought of winning or losing in this context seemed absurd, yet he found himself hoping that Haegin had come out on top.
As he was about to re-enter, Haegin emerged from inside. Taehong paused, caught off guard by her appearance. Her face, drained of color with patches of redness, bore traces of tears.
He couldn’t take his eyes off the rambling Haegin. Usually, he disliked seeing women cry, but for some reason, Haegin’s tears drew his attention repeatedly.
Then she asked him.
“Why are you here?”
Exactly, Haegin.
Why was I here?
Standing in front of a crying her, feeling lost as her shoulders drooped helplessly, he realized he had nothing in his extended hand. His fingers, scattered in the air, grasped at regret.
Still standing beside his desk, Taehong’s fingers tapped rhythmically.

Why do I keep thinking about her tear-streaked face, her red nose mingling with her pale complexion?
It was a ludicrous moment.
Seated at his desk, Taehong leaned back, finding the letters on the documents blurring before his eyes. Especially the red-circled parts reminded him of Haegin’s round, red eyes.
Eventually, Taehong decisively put down the documents and grabbed his jacket. As he opened the door to leave his office, he saw the top of Haegin’s head. Was her face still flushed?
As he wondered about her unseen face, Haegin looked up.
“Team Leader, where are you going?”
Her face was clear and composed, without a trace of redness.
“Let’s go. We have an external meeting this afternoon anyway.”
“But there’s still time.”
“We’ll have lunch, get coffee, and prepare for the meeting.”

Haegin hurriedly prepared to follow Taehong, who had swiftly left.
Reaching the parking lot, Haegin naturally moved to open the driver’s door when Taehong behind her caught the door.
“Sit on the side.”
“I’ll drive.”
Haegin couldn’t finish her sentence as Taehong opened the door wider and stepped aside, signaling her to sit in the passenger seat.
Haegin reluctantly sat down, and only then did Taehong get into the driver’s seat.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
