Seonghyuk changed into different clothes and immediately left the house, taking the elevator. While the elevator descended to the first floor, he wore a hat and a mask in a hurry, then dashed out as soon as the door opened. His destination was the subway station. The distance from home to the subway station was approximately 1 km. He calculated that if Youngin left the car key at the main gate security office and sent a message immediately, he could catch up. Seonghyuk ran like crazy, as if the expression “cutting through the wind” perfectly described his speed. He couldn’t remember the last time he ran at full speed outside; usually, it was only on the treadmill at the gym. The sensation of the wind brushing against his cheeks and the breath reaching the tip of his chin were quite pleasant. Perhaps it was the anticipation of meeting Cha Youngin that made him feel good.

Fortunately, his expectations were not disappointed. Spotting the familiar figure, Seonghyuk exerted a final sprint and caught Youngin’s arm, who was about to rush down the subway station stairs.

“I got you.”

Youngin, surprised, turned around, and Seonghyuk felt a sense of confusion in her whole face.

“What’s going on? How did you…”

Realizing that he was blocking the entrance to the subway station, Seonghyuk pulled Youngin to the side.

“To go to work together. I chased after you right after hanging up the call.”

For a moment, amidst Youngin’s astonishment, her gaze became narrow.

“Do you think I’ll stand next to a man?”

“No, I’m afraid a man might stand next to you.”

Youngin couldn’t bring herself to get angry at him, breathing heavily behind her mask.

“Are you planning to go to work like this?”

Youngin’s gaze went from the baseball cap to the short-sleeved T-shirt, training pants, and sneakers.

“I didn’t have time to get dressed properly.”

He didn’t have time to put on a suit, so he opted for comfortable sportswear. Also, he thought wearing a hat and a mask might prevent Youngin from recognizing him.

“There are clothes at the office. Just go and change.”

“What if I contacted you long after I parked and ran here?”

Seonghyuk found himself ridiculous for being nervous about whether she would recognize him, considering that he didn’t ask her to chase him.

“If I know you have something to do, I handle it immediately, not after a long time.”

“…”

Not long ago, she was confident that she knew everything about Cha Seonghyuk, but now that confidence wavered. She couldn’t predict his actions at all. On the other hand, he felt a bit unfair since it seemed like she knew everything about him.

“Let’s go. We’ll be late.”

After Youngin sighed a few times, she lifted her footsteps. Despite her attempts at disguise, would anyone recognize him? Lost in such trivial thoughts, Youngin mechanically stepped into the turnstile and only then remembered Seonghyuk’s presence.
When I looked back, he was fiddling with his mobile phone at the turnstile terminal, repeatedly putting it on and taking it off. Youngin quickly approached Seonghyuk, gesturing for him to step aside. Then, standing face to face with him across the metal fence, as expected, he wore a very annoyed expression.

“Why isn’t my phone working?”

“Having a mobile phone alone isn’t enough.”

“Then?”

“You have to register your card.”

“Oh, really?”

Seonghyuk had never ridden the subway since he was born; he had only ridden the bus once. It was the day he heard Youngin say she liked going to a pretty café for a warm cup of tea after sitting in the back seat of the bus and enjoying the view outside. It was not to his taste, but it was a unique experience. Come to think of it, the first time he took the bus and the first time he took the subway were both with Youngin. The only difference was that on that day, Youngin even paid for his bus fare.

“Does your credit card have a transportation card function?”

“I don’t know. But I forgot my wallet and only brought my phone.”

Seonghyuk’s eyes formed a gentle crescent.

“Buy me a ticket.”

It was an enchanting smile that could captivate anyone.

Even though I’ve seen it before, why does my heart pound?

Youngin quickly lowered her eyes and searched her bag to take out her wallet. Then she handed him a credit card with a transportation card function.

“Use this to tap.”

Nodding, Seonghyuk returned to the turnstile, tapped the credit card, and passed through the obstacle that had blocked him a moment ago. He felt secretly proud of this.

“Let’s go.”

Youngin confidently grabbed his clothes and held him back.

“Where are you going? It’s not that way.”

“No?”

“It’s this way.”

Seonghyuk took the lead and followed closely behind Youngin. However, while descending to the platform, people who had just arrived on the subway started coming up the stairs.

He thoroughly protected Youngin from being swept away or bumped into by the crowd.

Descending the stairs with excessive protection, Youngin stood in a less crowded area and queued up.

“Is the subway always this crowded, or is it particularly bad today?”

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.

On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.

Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.

News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.

Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.

But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.

The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.

The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”

So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.

She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.

After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.

Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.

Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.

She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.

“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
