Sediloi agreed before Meiana had even finished speaking. His reply came out so quickly that Meiana was momentarily overcome with a strange feeling. To keep the atmosphere from growing awkward, she quickly spoke again.

“It’s about why you’ve been so distant with the young lady. Is it because her parents… because those two people come to mind?”

“Well, of course not. Even when you’re away, I take the young lady outside to play every day. Do you know why children turn the house upside down? Or why puppies chew shoes into rags?
