The moment their fingers brushed, Meiana froze like a statue where she stood, biting her lips. Her eyelids trembled faintly.

Sediloi’s fingers moved slowly—delicate as if handling a stubbornly tangled thread—and his prominent knuckles quivered slightly, as though enduring something.

Meiana couldn’t tear her eyes away from the sight of the loose button finding its place and fastening shut. Her mind went blank, leaving her bewildered.

Only the flickering candlelight… the graceful motion of his long fingers, and the faint scent emanating from his body and neck remained vivid.

After fastening the button, Sediloi briefly held Meiana’s collar before releasing it with a soft chuckle and stepping back a pace.

“Don’t you need to pick up your basket?”
