“You guarantee it. It was you who brought me the news of Berbo and Liriya’s death. I couldn’t find a trace of sorrow in you then. Can you answer why? Like I have the blood of Valterminster, so does Berbo. Why didn’t you love my brother as you loved me?”

There was no answer. Sedilroy struggled to calm his trembling body with rage.

“……Leave. But remember this. Never again, from anyone’s mouth, should the story of Ariante’s birth come out. That child is Valterminster’s descendant, no matter what anyone says. Make sure no one insults Ariante. The same goes for Mayana. Do you understand?”

Only silence followed. Joslyn bowed her head quietly, not looking at Sedilroy, and left the room.

Fatigue gathered at Sedilroy’s eyes, left alone. Desperate, he covered his face with his palms and bowed his head.

No one could see his eyes blazing fiercely behind his fingers.

(This is a time separator.)

Ariante, who boasted of catching a hundred bedbugs, suddenly wiggled her toes with a sullen expression. Mayana, who was sewing lace with a thin needle, quickly noticed the change and asked,

“Why so sudden, Princess?”

Ariante pressed the table with her fingertips, and was silent. Lost in thought, she was quiet.

“I wonder where Marshal went.”

“He doesn’t work here now, does he? I haven’t seen such a child.”

“He was driven away, by Joslyn.”

Mayana furrowed her brows and repositioned her needle.

“Why?”

“He taught me bad things.”

It was an understandable thing. Joslyn was never the person to tolerate Ariante playing with servants, burning wood or catching insects.

Ariante continued in a defeated voice.

“I saw Joslyn beat him because of me……. I tried to apologize, but the next day he was already gone. He said he had to earn money without going home……. I wonder where he is.”

“Princess, it’s not your fault that Marshal was beaten. It was Joslyn, the butler, who was bad.”

“But still…… It happened again today. Because of me…….”
Ariante’s gaze briefly glanced at Mayana’s face. Jocelyn’s slapped cheek was still red and swollen. Apparently embarrassed by the sight, the child quickly looked away.

“Does it still hurt?”

Mayana smiled without a word and gently stroked Ariante’s head.

“It’s nothing, Your Highness. I’m fine.”

Mayana continued.

“If you’re worried about me, you better heal quickly. There’s a lot to do with Your Highness.”

“What to do? Going to pick strawberries again?”

“Well, we can go pick strawberries…… or catch locusts. Or catch cicadas.”

Ariante’s eyes sparkled with interest. The longing to go out immediately was both pitiable and adorable as he looked out of the window and tapped on the table.

“How to get better quickly?”

Mayana put on a deliberately serious expression.

“Hmm, well…… First, you must take your medicine regularly, and you need to eat your meals on time and balanced. You must sleep well, and be as quiet as possible.”

“I don’t want to take the medicine. It’s bitter.”

“Then I’ll make it so it doesn’t taste bitter. Will you take it then?”

“Liar, how can you make a medicine that doesn’t taste bitter?”

“You’ll see. Look forward to tonight’s dinner.”

Ariante stared at Mayana with puzzled eyes. But he didn’t throw a tantrum about not eating it.

As Mayana hummed a tune while making a small bonnet, Ariante fell asleep, sprawled on the cold table. He usually never took naps, but perhaps the shock of the incident at the dining hall had him fast asleep, his face still flushed.

‘Maybe I should take her to the bed?’

Putting down her sewing, Mayana picked up Ariante. Although small for a sevenyearold, her sagging asleep was not particularly heavy, and it was all the more pitiful.

When Mayana carefully laid Ariante down and turned around, Grete was standing in the doorway. Her expression was somehow dark, and she seemed restless and anxious, like someone with something on her mind.

“Grete, what’s wrong? What’s the matter?”

When Mayana asked, Grete looked around as if someone might be watching and said.

“Mayana, I have something to tell you.”

“What is it? Just tell me.”

But Grete, without answering, glanced into the bedroom. There was no doubt that she was conscious of Ariante.

Mayana said.

“The princess is asleep, so it’s okay… No, that’s right. Let’s talk in the living room. Is that okay?”

Grete’s head moved up and down. Mayana covered Ariante with a thin sheet, closed the door, and went to the living room.

“What’s the matter?”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
