“Get out! Get out!”

No matter how she shook it, with the strength of a seven-year-old child, she couldn’t overturn the wardrobe. When she realized that, she suddenly opened the door and violently pulled and kicked out Jocelyn’s clothes. Then, she fell to the floor in a fit of rage, crying and screaming.

“Get out! Get out of this house! I hate you! Get out!”

“Lady! No, open your eyes, Lady!”

Maeyana, holding Arianthe, shook her shoulders and slapped her cheeks. But Arianthe couldn’t regain her senses, trembling all over. Then, suddenly revealing the whites of her eyes, she collapsed and fainted.

“Lady!”

Screaming, Maeyana picked up Arianthe. There was no chance to scold Jocelyn, who watched the chaos. Maeyana, holding Arianthe, ran down the corridor, calling a doctor, and when the noise subsided, Jocelyn pulled the broken pendant away from her cheek and closed her eyes.

“Look, Duke. That’s what I told you. Mixing low blood into this family is not allowed. You should have just let me kill the child when I tried.”

With Arianthe collapsing following Swan, the Duke was truly turned upside down.

The situation was a bit different from Swan’s time. This time, Arianthe collapsed while playing a game. If a fever suddenly developed or something went wrong inside, it could be a big problem, and in severe cases, it could even lead to loss of life.
The maids from the east wing, including Bridget, all devoted themselves to Arianthe’s care. The doctor, too, was busy preparing medicine, and Cedilloi knelt under Arianthe’s bed. Meanwhile, Swan stood outside Arianthe’s living room, watching the scene.

She heard that a doctor had come when she collapsed. When she woke up, Cedilloi spoke kindly to her. Maeyana or Bridget brought tea, and Arianthe even brought fairy tales and dice for her own entertainment.

She hadn’t already forgotten that day. And she didn’t think all those people’s care was insincere. It just felt too apparent that there was a difference in degree.

Cedilloi had an expression as if he lost everything, and Maeyana kept murmuring Arianthe’s name while cradling Arianthe’s arms and legs. Bainti, on a doctor’s errand, snapped at Swan, who was standing in front of the door.

“Young master, you shouldn’t be here right now. Everyone is too busy, so go to your room.”

Without even checking Swan’s expression, she quickly went down the stairs. So Swan didn’t know how resentful Swan looked at her.

In fact, Bainti didn’t hate or ignore Swan. Crying or getting angry while rolling on the floor was a familiar sight from Arianthe, but collapsing while playing a game was a first.

Since there was definitely something suspicious, she was too preoccupied to scrutinize Swan.

But Swan was still ten years old. It wasn’t an age to understand all those circumstances.

Alone, Swan returned to her room, closed the door, and lay down on the bed. A murmur of Cedilloi calling Arianthe incessantly continued. Swan didn’t even want to hear that sound, so she turned the sheet upside down. All the sounds, like being submerged in water, grew louder and then suddenly receded.

“Young master.”

Cutting through that muffled noise, a clear voice penetrated under the sheet Swan covered. Surprised, Swan sat up, and Jocelyn, who was standing in front of her bed, appeared from under the sheet as if popping out of nowhere.

The sound of the door opening and closing was not heard, but how could she be here? As if she suddenly emerged from under the bed or in the wardrobe.

“Jocelyn, why are you here… Arianthe is in a lot of pain right now. So everyone is worried…”.

“It’s not pain. It’s a tantrum. She just made a fuss and collapsed while making trouble alone. They’re all making a fuss as if I can’t do anything about it.”

Swan frowned. A tantrum?

“No… I saw it too. Arianthe… lost consciousness. It’s not a tantrum.”

“Poor young master, are you still worrying about such things?”

Of course, Swan was going to answer that she was worried, and Arianthe was her younger sister. But before she could speak, she couldn’t break off Bainti’s brusque words. It was a trivial matter, but it was a big wound to the weak heart of a young boy.

As Swan remained silent, Jocelyn smiled smugly.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
