Meiana briefly leaned on the table and stared intently at Vainty. A fuss? What could have happened in such a short time? Surely, it wasn’t a big enough deal to create such a commotion.

“What do you mean, a fuss?”

“Come out and see!”

That was it. Meiana hurriedly followed behind Vainty. Then, she encountered a bewildering sight in the middle of the corridor.

Ariante stood there, his face flushed with anger, stamping his feet. On the floor, a maid was sitting and sobbing loudly… It was Grete.

“Your Highness!”

Ariante’s expression turned even more hostile after catching a glimpse of Meiana. Clenching his fists, Ariante began to indiscriminately hit Grete, who was sitting and sobbing. It was an action that even surprised Meiana.

“Your Highness, what are you doing! Stop it!”

Meiana quickly ran and pulled Ariante away from Grete. Held in her hand, Ariante flailed his legs.

“He tripped me! He made me fall!”

“What?”

Meiana immediately examined Ariante’s face. There was a reddish scrape above his cheek, and a slight bruise on his forehead. It would have been much worse if he had fallen on the street instead of in the corridor.

“Grete, what happened? Is what the princess said true?”

Grete shook her head as if it were unjust.

“No! No! Why are you lying? When did I trip you, Your Highness?”

At this, Ariante struggled even more. Meiana had to hold him tightly in her arms to keep him from getting away, but he was struggling so much that it was difficult to hold him.

“Stop lying! You tripped me! You tripped me!”

Grete yelled out.

“Meiana! No, I didn’t! The princess tripped himself while running!”

“No!”

The child’s voice resonated sharply. A commotion had broken out, and the surrounding servants started to gather and whisper. Their mumblings were all critical of Ariante.

Of course, he would trip, always running around like that… picking a fight with Grete for no reason… Just look at his temper, he’s not even a street child… that filthy bloodline…

Meiana quickly turned her head and glared at the maid who had mentioned ‘street child.’ The maid flinched for a moment, then looked back defiantly.

“Who just spoke?”

The maids murmured. Meiana spoke again.

“Who was it that spoke disrespectfully of the princess?”

The defiant maid glanced around nervously. Meiana let go of Ariante and stood up. She took slow steps toward the maid in focus.

“Was it you?”

“What… what are you talking about? What did I say?”

“You referred to the princess as a street child. Was it you?”

The maid’s eyes narrowed.

“So what if it was?”

Meiana swiftly swung her arm, slapping the maid hard across the face. The maid, unable to prepare herself, fell down like a ragdoll. However, nobody came to help her up. They just moved out of the way in shock.

The most startled was the maid who had been slapped. So shocked she was, she couldn’t even think of getting angry. She just held her face and looked up at Meiana.

Meiana, looking down coldly at her, spoke.

“Speak ill of the princess one more time. Whether the Count is in the capital or another country, I will send a letter and have you fired immediately.”

“What’s the big deal? Who are you to… a mere maid who’s barely arrived!”
“So what? My only job is to take good care of the princess. What’s wrong with me doing my job faithfully? If you think something’s wrong, call Head Butler Joslyn and see.”

Meiana stood up, casting a cold gaze not only at the tearful maid but also at the other servants who were gathered around murmuring. Her aura made everyone hold their breath, as if she would demolish the mansion with a single word.

They intuitively understood that her suggestion to call Head Butler Joslyn was not an empty threat. Although Joslyn would never take sides with Ariante or Meiana, Meiana was the only person who could stand up to him. Hadn’t everyone already seen that?

Greta, who had been observing the scene, cautiously rose to her feet. At that moment, Meiana quickly turned her head and glared at Greta.

“Greta.”

Greta hesitated and then looked at Meiana silently.

“Apologize to the princess.”

Greta’s lips trembled as she opened them.

“Why should I? Even if it wasn’t intentional, the princess—!”

“Apologize even if it wasn’t intentional. The princess doesn’t lie.”

Meiana’s tone was extremely firm. Greta felt humiliated and ashamed under the watchful eyes of the others who were enjoying the drama. Her face flushed, and her forehead grew hot.

It was true that Ariante had tripped over her foot when she rushed over. However, she had not expected to fall so dramatically.

Ariante’s body momentarily floated as if struck by a cart, and she fell flat onto the solid marble floor.

“[Princess! Are you alright?]”

Momentarily shocked by Ariante’s fall, Greta couldn’t help but feel a smile creeping onto her face.

It was amusing. After all, the princess was just a child who got tripped up so easily… and seeing Ariante take such a dramatic tumble was even better if she cried!

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
