After finishing work at the factory, Hyung Man rushed to the hospital room and collapsed upon seeing Eun Sun.

“You’re alive, Ms. Eun Sun.”

“Mr. Hyung Man, right?”

Seeing Hyung Man again after so long, Eun Sun shed tears. Jung Gyu, Hyung Man, and Eun Sun used to meet often with their children. Overwhelmed by memories of those irreplaceable days, sadness washed over her.

“Seo Hong Gyu killed him.”

Hyung Man frowned as if he’d expected this. Seo Jung Gyu, whom he’d known for years, had suddenly turned into someone else—trying to cut him down and kill him. Threatened that both his children would be murdered if he kept spreading rumors, Hyung Man had abandoned his loyalty to Jung Gyu and fled.

He’d suspected something had happened to Jung Gyu, but hearing the confirmation that he was truly dead, Hyung Man burst into tears like a child.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Eun Sun. I ignored Tae In just to protect my own kids.”

Eun Sun looked at Hyung Man with eyes neither forgiving nor resentful. Hyung Man then turned toward Tae In, who stood protectively beside Eun Sun, and opened his mouth.

“Let’s file a report, Tae In. This time, I won’t run—I’ll help you.”

Tae In let out a short sigh.

“Ms. Kim Young Rang has already left the country again, and the only remaining witness is Mom. Seo Hong Gyu and Jo Young Gap will relentlessly press her about her condition. Unless we secure the black box footage…”

“The black box? Wouldn’t they have destroyed it already?”

“No. Jo Young Gap would never destroy it. It’s Seo Hong Gyu’s lifeline—the very evidence of his murder that Jo Young Gap’s been wielding against him all this time. So Jo Young Gap must still have it.”

It was obvious that Young Gap, always preparing for the day he and Hong Gyu might clash, would keep incriminating evidence hidden—such was his nature.
