To wash at a child’s house and even borrow floralpatterned pants to wear.
He thought he’d have to leave this story out if he ever wrote his autobiography.
It was a shameful event that didn’t help Je Ha’s straightforward life even a penny’s worth.
The woman in front of him didn’t know who Je Ha was. For a moment, she had mistaken him for Tae In, and he felt sorry for Tae In, who had passed away.
The only thing the woman and Tae In had in common was their appearance. He had secretly taken a picture of the woman, intending to tell Se Ji that she just looked like Tae In.
The little boy’s grandmother brought out the meal.
“Let’s eat.”
Je Ha, who had been squeezing his wet clothes, looked up.
Four people’s worth of food was prepared on the table.
“I’m fine, I need to go now.”
Je Ha politely declined as much as possible. It was not the time to eat here.
His plan was to fill the bathtub with bubbles, have a halfbath, sip wine, and finish the remaining work.

Grrr.
Scary enough to refuse, a loud sound rang from Je Ha’s stomach.
Only then did Je Ha realize that he had skipped breakfast and lunch.
The woman was looking at Je Ha as if he were more pathetic than when he had fallen into the rice paddy.
“Your mouth and body are going different ways.”
With no choice, Je Ha sat in front of the meal. Even if he didn’t like it, he decided to pretend to eat and leave.
Je Ha always had carbohydrates, fats, and proteins evenly for three meals, a quality meal. He was also picky about taste, and most of the famous chefs’ food did not satisfy him.
There, in this rural area, having some unknown grandmother offering her food?
A chuckle escaped his lips.
Even Tae In, who had a more delicate taste and a pickier mouth than him, would have refused it.
But Tae In, as if to mock him, scooped up a large spoonful of rice and put it in her mouth.

She even deliciously ate the perilla leaf that the grandmother had handed her.
‘It’s impossible.’
It couldn’t possibly be Seo Tae In.
He had rationalized the sun cap and the flowerpatterned clothes.
But the only similarity between the woman in front of him and Seo Tae In was their appearance.
As he squinted his eyes, watching Tae In, the kid handed him a wrapped lettuce leaf right into his mouth.
‘This little rascal…!’
He intended to chew it roughly but inevitably had to bite and swallow the wrap.
The mechanical chewing expression of him gradually changed.
The spicy taste of the grilled meat, with a hint of smokiness, combined with the fresh lettuce to create an utterly perfect harmony of flavors.
The ratio of meat and fat was appropriate, and the texture of the chewy brown rice added an extra touch.
“Grandmother, something seems a bit lacking?”
He squinted his eyes, glaring at Tae In. What could possibly be lacking in such perfect food?

“Anyway, it’s beyond control.”
The moment the grandmother fetched soju from the refrigerator, he realized something.
He was foolish and that there was something to learn from the woman in front of him, whether she was Tae In or not.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
