A surge of indescribable overwhelming emotion overwhelmed her.

She felt a little sorry. In a moment, she thought it was annoying to be loved and relied upon by such a small existence, even in her dreams.

“Dear.”

Taein, who had just finished washing, cautiously called Nokhyun. Nokhyun, also cautiously, got up. So as not to wake up Sihu.

Inadvertently seeing Taein, Nokhyun was surprised and almost sat down. Taein was wearing the slip she had put on earlier.

“Let’s see the bottom too.”

Embarrassed, Taein, who had swept her hair behind her ears, blushed a bit.

Nokhyun covered her gaping mouth with her hand.

Taein, who seemed embarrassed, grabbed Nokhyun’s hand and led her to the bedroom. As soon as they arrived in the bedroom, Nokhyun locked the door. She didn’t repeat the same mistake twice.

And then, she immediately kissed her. She tasted the moist and sweet mouth, and urgently messed it up.

Clutching the sheet with familiar pain, she closed her eyes.

Nokhyun persistently found Taein’s hand and held it tightly.

Lips and lips were intertwined, making a sticky sound. The moans mixed with friction sounds, sounding provocative, and Taein closed her tightly closed eyes even more.
Nokhyun kissed Taein on the tear-stained eyes.

“Open your eyes and look at me, Taein.”

As Taein brushed against her body, Nokhyun tickled her as if urging her to perform. Taein, twisting her body, reluctantly opened her eyes.

Under the subtle lighting, a well-defined figure revealed itself to Taein’s eyes.

As if pleading desperately to be looked at affectionately.

Taein suddenly realized. Kang Nokhyun is a fox. Ironically, I am the one who won’t look at her.

As expected, Nokhyun’s ambitions pushed Taein to the limit.

The hot breaths intertwined, and the hands held together became entangled as one.

In the thrilling excitement like waves, Taein shivered all over.

Yet, the wife who wouldn’t let go, even at the end, was so lovely that Nokhyun kissed Taein’s forehead.

“I love you, Taein.”

“…Me too.”

“To the point where you might think it’s okay like this.”

Taein forcefully suppressed her choked-up emotions.

Can I receive such feelings from someone like her?

“No, I love you more.”

From the first time I saw her until now, my heart has been filled with Kang Nokhyun.

I fell for her in a moment as if it were okay, and helplessly, I came to love her.

Nokhyun, lying beside Taein, pulled her into her arms.

Taein, embraced in a warm and cozy embrace, felt the gentle touch of her head and slowly closed her eyes.

“Taeyin, stop crying.”

Taein, who failed the midterm exams, did not eat and locked herself in her room.

To console Taein, who was like this, her father, Junggyu, came with an apple carved into the shape of a rabbit.

Taein didn’t care and cried loudly, lying face down on the desk.

“Are you not going to eat anything just because the test went badly? I made your favorite creamy pasta and fried chicken.”

“I don’t know, I have no appetite. I don’t want to eat anything.”

Surprised by Taein’s lack of appetite, Junggyu touched Taein’s forehead. Her whole face was moist with things that could be sweat or tears.

“Are you not feeling well anywhere? Our Taein, who used to eat Samgyetang when she had the flu when she was young, saying she didn’t have an appetite? Does that make sense?”

“Dad, please leave my room.”

Junggyu, trying to cheer up Taein, touched her forehead. With sweat or tears, her whole face was damp.

“You’re not sick anywhere, are you? Even when you had the flu when you were little, you used to eat Samgyetang, saying you didn’t have an appetite. Does that make sense?”

“Dad, please leave my room.”

Junggyu tried to tease Taein, but she burst into tears even more sorrowfully.

“It’s just a messed-up test, you know? It’s not like you ruined your whole life. In life, exams are nothing.”

“Dad always got perfect scores, so you can say that.”

“Yeah, I got a few wrong.”

“One.”

“…That’s my daughter, right. Yeah, that’s right. If you could get everything right but missed one, it could be disappointing.”

Junggyu comforted Taein.

“I shouldn’t have changed it. I changed it and got it wrong. It was a question I knew, so why wasn’t I confident?”

Crying, Taein wiped away her tears and spoke seriously.

“At that moment, I thought it was the right answer. That’s how life is. Who lives without making a single mistake?”

“I’m sorry for being so childish… I should have studied harder.”

“I just hope my Taein doesn’t obsess only with studying.”

“Then?”
When Taein opened her eyes wide and asked, Junggyu speared an apple with a fork and handed it to Taein.

Crunchy and fresh, Junggyu, pleased with the sound of biting into the apple, gently stroked Taein’s head.

“I hope you become a happy person. Meet someone you love, build a family, have beautiful children like you, and live in a house where laughter never stops.”

Taein mumbled while munching on the apple until her cheeks were about to burst. It was still a vague topic.

“Can I be like that?”

Grandfather had already marked the eldest son of Samjinmulzan as Taein’s future partner. So, he had vaguely thought of an arranged marriage. But to meet someone you love and build a family?

Strangely, her heart pounded.

“Of course. I see it in Dad’s eyes. Our Taein’s happy future.”

With ambiguous words, Taein blinked her large eyes.

“This is a gift for Taein, who successfully survived a difficult exam.”

“Huh? What gift?”

Even as she said that, Taein extended both hands. Junggyu placed a large strawberry in Taein’s hands. A strawberry so big that even holding it with both hands seemed insufficient.

“Dad, what’s this…”

At that moment, Taein woke up from her dream.

It was so vivid that even now, back in reality, she still felt dreamy as if she were still dreaming.

“Dad’s dream, I had a dream…”

For the first time, Dad appeared in her dream.

“Hmm…”

Nokhyun, who moaned softly, pulled Taein closer and covered her with a blanket. Whether it was an action in her sleep or not, she still kept her eyes closed.

Taein burst into laughter.

At that moment, a knocking sound was heard. Taein, wearing a nightgown, opened the door. Shihu looked up at Taein with half-open eyes and hugged her.

“Mommy!”

“Yes, my son.”

Taein held Shihu and laid him in the middle of the bed.

Shihu soon fell asleep, snoring soundly.

Taein gazed intently at the rich face that even resembled her sleeping son.

‘Dad, is this the happy future you saw?’

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
