Inside a noisy, crowded bar on Daehakro packed with chattering customers.

Loudly blaring from a speaker mounted on the corner of the gray cement wall was a hit song by a currently popular girl group, while part-timers hurried back and forth nonstop with trays in hand.

The table where three people sat, tucked away in a half-hidden corner, was relatively quiet and uncrowded, yet not entirely gloomy either.

“So what? What do you want me to do about it!”

“Who said do anything? Forget it. Just shut up and drink.”

“Ugh—what a pain. You shut up first.”

“Don’t swear at me. It’s vulgar.”

“I’ve never claimed to be some saint, you know. Hey, drop that phony act already. It’s ruining the taste of my drink.”

Yu In smiled faintly, watching the two bicker right in front of her without the slightest change in expression.

After parting ways with Ki Yeon, Yu In had sat alone for a long while. Since the excuse she’d given her worried-looking friends—that she had to leave—wasn’t actually true, she should have headed home, but her heavy, dejected mood made her steps too leaden to move anywhere.

Thankfully, Jae Hee had rushed over immediately upon receiving just a single text asking where she was. Ji Han came along too, having just finished her exams.

Though the loud singing and dense crowd inside the venue weren’t to Yu In’s taste, having friends beside her who diluted her discomfort made it bearable.

“Have you decided on a company yet?”

“Yeah, sort of.”

“You’ve decided? Which one?”
