To Yu In, Ki Yeon was the perfect man—calm, dignified, unhurried, self-restrained, yet also witty and playfully lighthearted, without a single flaw to be found.

However, as their time together deepened, she gradually realized there were aspects of him she’d overlooked.

“Welcome. Please come this way.”

The restaurant staff member, who had greeted them with a courteous tone and a kind smile, suddenly hesitated upon seeing Yu In. It was just a fleeting moment—so brief that even Yu In almost missed it.

The employee, maintaining a professionally cheerful demeanor, guided both of them into a private room. But after Ki Yeon returned from a phone call, their table server had changed.

This was an extremely minor detail—yet another time, on a different day:

“Having fun?”

“Yes. Are you not enjoying it, Director?”

“No, I’m having fun too.”

Yu In had been utterly fascinated by her first visit to a drive-in theater, and since the movie playing happened to be one she’d been eagerly anticipating, she was completely absorbed in it.

Ki Yeon, who earlier claimed the film was entertaining, hardly paid attention to the screen afterward. Instead, he kept fiddling with her hand or lightly poking her slightly parted lips in deep concentration—relentlessly teasing her.

Eventually, having missed nearly the entire first act, Yu In sighed and asked,

“Director, aren’t you going to watch the movie? You said it was fun.”

“It’s not as enjoyable as I thought because you’re so focused on something else beside me. Let’s not watch the movie anymore.”
