Jae Hee had been on the verge of fainting the entire time she listened to Yu In’s story, which began from their first meeting at the club.

With a disbelieving expression, she downed her own iced Americano in one gulp—and still unsatisfied, snatched Yu In’s drink and crunched even the ice cubes loudly between her teeth.

But when the part resembling Director Do’s confession came up, she spat out the ice in her mouth with a “Ptoo!” and started coughing hoarsely.

“What… what did you say?!”

Yu In smiled awkwardly and bit her lips inward.

Jae Hee stared blankly at Yu In without even wiping the melting ice dripping down, until she finally snapped back to her senses after a long while.

“So… so does that mean you two are officially dating now?”

“No, it’s not like that…”

“What do you mean ‘not like that’? It’s neither yes nor no—what’s going on right now?”

Yu In hesitated to answer and popped the remaining ice Jae Hee had left into her own mouth. The cold, sharp cube slowly melted against her warm body, gradually shrinking in volume.

It was neither yes nor no—somewhere in between. Ki Yeon and Yu In had continued maintaining this ambiguous relationship.

Ki Yeon had said he would wait for Yu In’s feelings, and Yu In had silently agreed.

Yet since then, nothing had progressed. They spent time together, laughed face-to-face—but beyond that, nothing had been decided.

“I don’t know myself.”

“What are you talking about? What don’t you know?”
