As usual days passed, and before long, it was April.
A warm spring breeze carrying the full essence of the season blew gently, filling the campus with lush green leaves and the blooming pink cherry blossoms. Couples on dates under the beautiful cherry trees and groups enjoying flower-viewing were all busy embracing spring, but Yuin seemed detached from their world, standing aloof under the cherry blossoms. “It’s just cherry blossoms that bloom every year. What’s so great about invisible love like this?” she thought cynically.
“Yuin, did you say you have plans today?” Jaehui, walking with her along the campus path littered with pink petals, yawned loudly as if still not fully awake from the general education class.
“Yeah, with Nam Yujin.”
As Yuin flicked off an annoying petal that had stuck to her long hair, her response made Jaehui’s half-closed, cat-like eyes sparkle suddenly as she exclaimed, “Oh, I want to go too!”
“No, you can’t. You have a shoot today.”
“Ah, right. I wanted to see Yujin unni after such a long time.”
Muttering her dislike for the upcoming shoot, Jaehui’s energy deflated like over-soaked cabbage. Last year, declaring acting wasn’t her path despite being a drama student, Jaehui had started modeling. Starting with small online stores, she was now a popular model for famous brands on social media, gaining significant fame in the industry.
Knowing today’s shoot was important, Yuin playfully tapped sulking Jaehui’s shoulder, “Watch on TV.”
“It’s not the same! Ah, forget the shoot.”

“Even if you insist, Nam Yujin wouldn’t want that.”
“Hmm, maybe she would. It feels like half a year since I saw unni.”
“Maybe.”
Yuin laughed softly at Jaehui’s pouting, pretending to think deeply. Jaehui, engrossed in her own thoughts, suddenly yelled.
“Ah, I want unni to buy me a meal!”
“I’ll do a video call for you. Watch that.”
“What? Yuin, are you teasing me?”
Jaehui, taller than Yuin, flung her arm around Yuin’s neck, playfully pretending to strangle her. Yuin’s laughter echoed through the cherry blossom-filled street, an unusual sight for the typically cynical Yuin. Apart from her family, only two people could bring out such a bright smile from her.
To Yuin, indifferent to whether spring came or not, nothing else mattered. As long as she had her two steadfast friends who had supported her since high school, she needed nothing more.
“Thank you.”

Muttering a small thanks, Yuin almost tumbled out of the taxi. She rushed up the stairs to the entrance, cursing Jaehui for making a fuss until the last minute about the shoot, leaving her almost late for her appointment with her sister.
Yuin sent a message saying she might be late, but there was no reply, possibly indicating anger.
“Welcome. Do you have a reservation?”
“Huff… Nam Yuin.”
Breathless, Yuin gave her name, and the staff, after checking the list, guided her inside. The restaurant, filled with soft music, was quiet and peaceful.
Following the staff down a warmly wooden path, a neatly arranged courtyard with tall bamboo amongst white pebbles appeared. They walked further into the depths.
The staff gently opened a door after a soft knock. Inside, a bored-looking Nam Yujin was propping her chin, sitting at a round table large enough for ten.
“What time do you think it is?”
“Sorry. Didn’t you see my message?”
Exhausted Yuin, who had just let out a breath of undepleted oxygen, carelessly tossed her bag onto the adjacent chair and sat down. Yujin, with a deeply furrowed expression, snapped irritably.
“Does sending a message make it okay to be late?”

“Jaehui was clinging on to me, couldn’t help it.”
“Han Jaehui? Then bring her along.”
“Ugh. Next time, you two meet without me.”
Already drained, Yuin waved her hand dismissively, tired of hearing the same complaint she had been bombarded with until just moments ago.
Seeing a face similar to hers frown and get irritated, Yuin retorted with her own frustration, “The one who’s late shouldn’t be angry. But… why are you dressed like that?”
“My clothes? What about them?”
Yujin squinted at her as if she had seen something bizarre. Busy fixing her disheveled hair from the rush, Yuin looked down at herself. Her cotton skirt was a bit wrinkled from the morning, but nothing else seemed amiss.
“It looks like… clothes you’d pick up off the street. Don’t you wear what I got you?”
“I’m just a college student, what more do you expect? I’m not a celebrity like you.”
“Stop whining and wear what I bought you. Change your bag too.”

“I’ll handle it.”
“It’s because you don’t, I have to say this. And what’s with that watch?”
The same story again.
The luxury items Yujin frequently lavished her with felt overly extravagant and not at all Yuin’s style. Despite the natural differences in tastes, Yujin, unwilling to acknowledge them, consistently nagged and meddled whenever she saw Yuin’s unchanging preferences.
Yuin had tried arguing back, asking to be left alone since she wasn’t in a public-facing profession like Yujin, but her sister was always unyielding.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
