Dillon returned just as Harold won his fourth card game. Four matches, four victories—all of them flawless wins—so people stared at him with eyes filled with envy and resentment.

“Didn’t you use some shady move? How can you win instantly the moment you sit down? And not just once—but all four games!”

“It seems like you’re colluding with the host. Didn’t the owner treat you like an honored guest the moment you arrived?”

“Now that you mention it, that’s suspicious. There must be something going on!”

Someone’s whispered suspicion quickly spread like wildfire. As the crowd cried foul play, both the dealer and even the owner stepped forward to insist it wasn’t true.

The owner shot Harold a pleading look, hoping he’d help deny the accusations too—but unfortunately, Harold had no intention of doing so. After all, he really had cheated. To him, fooling these fools was easier than eating candy while lying down; his hands moved faster than their eyes.

Harold had won the game through cheating precisely to draw everyone’s attention to himself—so Dillon could more easily locate the room in question. Once things unfolded as planned, Harold pushed all his chips toward the dealer and stood up.

“I shall donate all these chips for the next lucky winner whom Lady Luck favors.”

In an instant, the jeers filled with suspicion and distrust turned into cheers. Not only did people begin singing Harold’s praises, but they also swarmed the game tables like a swarm of bees, eager to join the high-stakes game.

“Wait, hold on! Only four players are allowed per table!”

“We’ll divide the prize money fairly among all tables, so please calm down a bit…!”

While staff struggled to rein in the excited crowd, Harold followed Dillon toward the long red curtain. Behind it was a side door. When Harold reached for the handle to enter, Dillon blocked his way.

“If you go in yourself, your clothes might pick up a strange smell. Let me go in and bring that man out.”

“But the same goes for you.”

“Well, it doesn’t matter much to me—I live alone anyway.”
