“Didn’t she say she couldn’t attend the summons for questioning due to health issues? I knew Geum Mo Ran wasn’t an ordinary person, but this is beyond what I imagined. Her own son’s been detained, and even Chairman Na showed up—but she’s still holding out.”

Joo Hyuk sat perched on the windowsill behind Ra In’s seat. He crossed his arms and fell deep in thought. Ra In picked up the search and seizure warrant lying on her desk and stood up.

“Geum Mo Ran will come. She’ll walk in here herself.”

Ra In stepped forward with conviction.

The two prosecutors didn’t head to Taesung Group or the Taesung family mansion. Instead, they went to one of Taesung’s subsidiaries mentioned in the Future Strategy Office documents. That company listed Geum Mo Ran’s closest aide—the secretary—as its president.

Ra In suspected this place might very well be Geum Mo Ran’s true heart. Unlike Taesung’s other subsidiaries or affiliates, this one seemed riddled with shady dealings.

Even the people listed as employees couldn’t be confirmed as actually working there. It was as if the company was filled with ghosts.

Upon hearing that the prosecution had raided the place, Geum Mo Ran immediately declared her intention to come in for questioning.

Geum Mo Ran sat alone inside the interrogation recording room. Her legal team waited outside, following her instructions.

Inside, Geum Mo Ran was boiling with rage, but outwardly, she wore an expression of perfect composure as she awaited Prosecutor Jin Ra In’s arrival.

Just then, the door opened and Ra In walked in. Geum Mo Ran mechanically broke into a wide smile.

“Have you been well? Here we are, meeting again like this?”

The overwhelming scent of perfume nearly made Ra In grimace, but she cheerfully responded. The sense of accomplishment from having seated Geum Mo Ran—who had adamantly refused any summons—right here was indescribable.

“But, where’s your counsel?”

“I told them to wait outside for a moment. I have something I’d like to say to Prosecutor Jin Ra In alone.”
