“Director, quite a bit of time has already passed. Should we file a complaint with the prosecution?”

Ha In, unable to bear it any longer, spoke to Song Kang as Ra In—who had left citing the agreed-upon time—still hadn’t returned.

“Let’s wait a bit longer.”

Song Kang calmly waited for her to come back. He wondered what was bothering her, causing her to stay away despite her typically sharp temperament… He himself needed a little time to calm his own tangled thoughts.

Just then, the door opened and Ra In walked in.

Ha In stood up to greet her, but after waiting so long, he couldn’t manage as cheerful a greeting as before.

“Hello.”

Ra In, who clearly wasn’t doing well herself, didn’t acknowledge the greeting and simply sat down. Ha In’s earlier wish—that they could stay close and interact comfortably—now felt like an ancient memory from long ago.

Seeing Ra In’s worn-out face, Ha In nearly turned toward Song Kang. Aside from her injuries, she looked terribly haggard.

Song Kang looked just as drained. To Ha In’s eyes, both of them seemed utterly exhausted, as if they might collapse at any moment.

Song Kang, too, stared silently at Ra In. Her entire demeanor seemed to have reverted to how it was before she’d ever met him.

If that were truly the case, he wished she’d go back to acting carefree and fine, just as she had before knowing him… Yet seeing her appear so clearly unwell now made his chest ache.

Ra In didn’t even glance his way, keeping her eyes fixed on her laptop.

“Mr. Na Song Gang, you are indeed who you claim to be, correct?”

Though Ra In’s procedural approach wasn’t surprising, Ha In couldn’t help but glance at Song Kang nervously.
