It was a day so blue it hurt the eyes.

Standing once again in front of the Central District Prosecutors’ Office, Ra In swallowed hard against the lump in her throat as she gazed at the building. The sunlight, shattering brilliantly in the distance, nearly brought tears to her eyes.

She wanted to turn back toward that dreamlike moment just beyond the prosecutors’ office fence—but… she clenched her fists and walked forward.

An employee waiting at the gate of the prosecutors’ office greeted Ra In.

Though slightly taken aback by the cuts and bruises on her face, he didn’t ask further questions—it was already common knowledge within the office what she’d been through.

He forced himself to stay calm and handed Ra In her prosecutor’s ID.

“Prosecutor Jin Ra In, you’ve been through a lot. Congratulations on your return.”

Ra In reached for the ID with a newfound sense of gravity—it felt heavier than before. She hung the ID around her neck.

“Prosecutor, Chief Prosecutor Ji is asking for you.”

Well, she’d just returned—it was only right to go pay her respects…

“I understand.”

Ra In said it aloud, but she didn’t actually want to go see the Chief Prosecutor.

Just as she was about to pass through the gate, a commotion broke out nearby. She turned toward the sound. They were the very people who’d left her in this state.

They seemed to be there for questioning related to the case. When their eyes met Ra In’s, they jumped in alarm and quickly averted their gazes.

Ra In tapped her prosecutor’s ID at the gate and walked through the entrance. Heading toward the elevator, she frowned upon spotting an unwelcome face.
