The unpleasant dampness and acrid stench assaulted Ra In’s nerves. She had no idea where she was.

Ra In sat bound to a hard chair, her eyes blindfolded.

Beyond the fact that her limbs were immobilized, the inability to see anything was utterly terrifying. Above all, she was already battered beyond recognition.

From outside came the sounds of clashing and fighting. She couldn’t grasp at all what was happening.

“Oh! She’s falling over! Grab her!”

Having endured severe beatings, she lacked the strength to remain upright in the chair. Her body toppled sideways and crashed onto the floor. One of them forcibly yanked her back into a sitting position.

“Is this really her? The boss said to double-check before killing her. You should’ve held back a bit—now she’s unrecognizable.”

The phrase “double-check before killing her” flashed through Ra In’s mind. She recalled the assassin who’d previously infiltrated her home, mistakenly targeting Joo Hyuk instead of her.

“She’s tiny but sure put up a hell of a fight. Let me see… She looks right, though. Should we take off the blindfold? Oh, right—we’re not supposed to let her see us. But if she’s gonna die anyway, what does it matter?”

It seemed the mastermind behind this operation had issued strict instructions to leave absolutely no trace this time.

“But… doesn’t she look kind of familiar? Where have I seen her before…?”

Hearing they found her face familiar drove Ra In nearly mad with curiosity about their identities. She furrowed her brow deeply and frantically scanned her surroundings—but she couldn’t see a thing.

“That’s right! The prosecutor! The one who hit our boss, Choi Go! Yeah, exactly! The one who also dragged me into it and tried to uproot our whole organization!”

The thug’s blood pressure spiked as vivid memories of that day flooded back.

“Ah! You mean the fearless prosecutor who shoved our bosses and slapped their cheeks?”
