My Line (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 21

Song Kang and Ra In had an unexpected dinner gathering that lasted late into the night, yet both still started their day bright and early as usual.

When Ra In arrived at the office, Song Kang was already standing by the door, holding a warm cup of coffee. He sensed instinctively that her steps slowed upon seeing him and held the door open wide while looking straight at her.

“Normally, when I’m already standing here like this, our employees get busy right away—but Prosecutor Jin Ra In slows down instead?”

He then gestured for her to enter first. Ra In shuffled in awkwardly, offering a formal greeting: “Good morning,” before stepping inside.

It was strange—he’d arrived earlier than her and even brought her coffee as an offering, yet nothing about it felt forced or unpleasant.

Song Kang placed the coffee on the conference table and sat down. Ra In went to her own seat and sat.

Was it too much to hope that she’d come over and sit at the conference table with him? …He was still adjusting to her.

“Let’s bring the materials for the summons interrogation and sit together.”

“Yes.”

The printer whirred for quite a while. When the notification beeped, indicating printing was complete, Song Kang stood up, gathered the documents, and set them on the desk.

“I could’ve done that myself…”

“The volume of documents is quite substantial.”

He had moved them because they looked heavy. At a glance, the stack was as thick as two encyclopedias.

Song Kang flipped through a page, then another. Ra In stared at him intently the whole time. He felt her gaze and lifted his eyes to meet hers.

Ra In, still holding his gaze without flinching, looked deep in thought as she watched him.
