He had gotten into the car with her from the office, but Song Kang couldn’t choose the menu. It wasn’t that Ra In was picky about food—it was more like she had no affection for eating at all.

“What should we go eat?”

It was a question—and a dilemma—he’d never faced even when they were dating. At Song Kang’s question, Ra In instantly replied without a second’s hesitation: “Anything’s fine.”

Song Kang headed toward a nearby seafood restaurant.

The place had a fairly quiet atmosphere, seeming perfectly suitable for the two to spend some time together. Song Kang ordered the dinner course with the most dishes included, thinking that surely she’d eat at least one of them.

Ra In picked up her spoon and reached for the egg custard, which resembled pudding. Even while eating, she kept scrolling through the documents Ha In had sent her on her phone.

Song Kang couldn’t tell whether she was catching up on missed messages or handling work, so he didn’t feel he could point it out.

“Do you have to study that hard just to get into Korea University Law School?”

At Song Kang’s comment, Ra In put her phone down. She also set her spoon aside and took a sip of water. The egg custard, served in a teacup-like dish, was apparently her entire meal.

“Does the food not suit your taste?”

She hadn’t even taken a bite, so there was no way to know whether it suited her or not.

“Oh, I don’t really like seafood.”

“Then why didn’t you say so before we came in?”

“The egg custard here is really good, though.”

Clearly, they had completely different concepts of food.
