Song Kang looked at Line with a worried expression. Her forehead wrinkled. It seemed like she might spit out the food, but she showed effort in swallowing. Line took a big bite of the garlic shrimp.
“You don’t have to force yourself to eat.”
He was worried that Line might feel sick for no reason. However, Line diligently cleared her plate.
“Eating well is good for your health, isn’t it?”
Taking care of her health, Line… It was something to see for a long time. Song Kang couldn’t help but be curious about the reason for her attitude change.
“Suddenly, having that thought?”
Line internally suppressed the thought, ‘It’s the body that might become a mom someday.’
“Desiring to live a long and healthy life is something everyone has, isn’t it?”
Although it was a common story for everyone, Song Kang became more skeptical when Line said those words. Moreover, her expression, unable to lie, made Song Kang even more curious.
After finishing their meal, Song Kang returned to the beach house, lit a bonfire in the garden, and sat down with Line.
Just being together without doing anything and looking at the same place was enough for the two of them. Line suddenly looked up at Song Kang.

“Do you have something to say?”
Leaning her head, Line leaned against his chest. Line, who was not good at expressing herself, hesitated about whether to tell him what she was thinking.
“Why do you keep making me curious and not telling me?”
“When I go back to Korea, I’m thinking of taking care of my health. Maybe even start exercising.”
“So, why this sudden change in thought?”
Even though he asked again, Line couldn’t bring herself to speak. Concerned, Song Kang hugged her tightly.
“This kind of thing doesn’t make my heart race… Is it because it’s an area I can’t understand?”
Song Kang became serious, thinking that there might be a health problem with her. If she was delaying such a conversation, he was determined to stop the Hawaii trip here.
“No… It’s not that… It’s just that… If I become a mom with an unhealthy body, the child could also get sick.”
Song Kang momentarily held his breath at Line’s words. Then, after 5 seconds, he smiled with joy and lifted Line, placing her on his lap.

“A mom!”
In surprise, Line, who was in his arms, looked down at him. He smiled with an expression as if he had everything in the world.
Even though there wasn’t a child yet, and she had only opened up the possibility of childbirth, he was too happy.
“Sir, I just want to take care of my health. Just health care…”
“Who said anything? Just take care of your health. Just health care.”
“In every happy ending of a story, there follows the phrase, ‘They lived happily ever after.’ If I can’t be with you for a long time, like being sick or, like our parents, not being together for a long time, it might be a sad ending for someone because of me. I don’t like that, so I was scared to create a family.”
“We can do it together. Us together.”
Song Kang admired her attitude, feeling a heavy sense of responsibility for whatever she said she would do. Song Kang once again held Line and entered the beach house.
Seeing Song Kang so delighted, Line’s heart also soared. With this person, she felt confident that even the last moments of her life could be a happy ending.
As Song Kang unpacked the clothes from the prepared suitcase, another day in Hawaii passed.
“Why does happy time pass so quickly…? In the suitcase, unnoticed, the last outfit he prepared remained.

Line picked up the outfit. It was a simple, pure white dress. Even without hearing any explanation about this dress, it seemed she understood the meaning. Line, unable to easily put on the dress, hesitated and then brought it to Song Kang.
“Sir, this outfit…”
Song Kang had to carefully observe Line’s expression. He wondered if she felt burdened, if her heart was heavy.
“It doesn’t have to be now; you can wear it whenever you want. I wanted to put on a luxurious wedding dress, but I thought Line wouldn’t like it… It’s my desire, but I’ve prepared only the dress.”
“Sir… Can I really put it on without hesitation?”
Line felt sorry inside. Marriage is one of those things that should be blessed by many people, and it seemed unfair that he couldn’t naturally receive the congratulations he should.
“Didn’t Jin Line say she doesn’t like it? Originally, the bride has the lead in the wedding. As long as there’s Jin Line’s approval…”
Before Song Kang could finish speaking, Line rushed to him and hugged him.
He realized that every word he had spoken about marriage had been sincere. Line, in Song Kang’s arms, began to cry.
“Why… are you crying?”

“It’s so beautiful. The dress…”
Line looked down at him from his arms. No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t afford to lose this person. Line, with the dress in hand, wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Let’s get married. Today… right now.”
At Line’s sudden proposal, Song Kang’s heart trembled. He couldn’t think of anything to say.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
