It was clear that he would face tremendous criticism and condemnation, but he couldn’t endure the obstinacy of Prosecutor Yoon Nansul.
“Do as you please.”
The day of the decision arrived amid the disagreements between the two prosecutors. Even though it was time to go to court, Juhyuk remained in the office without wearing his robe. Nansul, who had finished preparing to go to court, entered Juhyuk’s office.
“Senior, why aren’t you preparing to go?””
Nansul wore a perplexed expression.
“Do you think I wrote the closing argument as I pleased?”
“Yeah.”
Juhyuk didn’t even look at Nansul and continued with his work. Nansul approached Juhyuk with loud clacking noises from her high heels.
“Senior, don’t you know how important today is?”
“I know, that’s why I’m not going. Why, go with Prosecutor Jo. Go with Prosecutor Jo and, after demanding a 14-year sentence, come back.”
“Senior, are you really going to do this?”

“Senior? Who said I’m your senior? Who said I’m your senior! If you’ve ever thought of me as your senior even once, this closing argument…! Do you think this makes sense?!”
Juhyuk, holding back his anger, stood up and raised his voice.
“Senior, so you’re telling me to go alone?”
“Haven’t you gone yet?”
Seeing Juhyuk’s unyielding attitude, Nansul gritted her teeth and left his office.
The tension in the courtroom was palpable. All eyes were focused on how much time the prosecution would demand for the sentencing.
As Song Kang and his defense attorney, along with Prosecutor Yoon Nansul, took their seats, the judges entered. Once the prosecution’s closing argument, defense attorney’s final statement, and the defendant’s final statement concluded, only the court’s judgment remained.
Song Kang sat with a heavy expression. The burden of suppressing his emotions was immense, given that he didn’t know how the outcome would be despite being innocent.
Moreover, it was unsettling that Prosecutor Yoon Nansul appeared alone.
As the judge announced the case number, the decision trial began.

“Prosecution, present your sentencing.”
Upon the judge’s words, Prosecutor Yoon Nansul stood up.
“The defendant, Na Song Kang, is a director of Taesung Group. He is a figure with enormous economic power, with assets totaling 8 trillion.”
Prosecutor Yoon Nansul eloquently introduced Na Song Kang. She also went on to explain in detail the reasons why a prison sentence should be imposed on Director Na Song Kang. It was a quite convincing argument.
“An amount of 8 billion has been provided as a bribe. It has been clearly revealed that the money provided to high-ranking officials as a bribe in exchange for a request was for the growth of Taesung’s affiliated companies.”
However, it was merely an unfounded argument that Prosecutor Yoon Nansul believed in.
Even if it sounded absurd, there was a reason to listen to her voice—it would reveal how much of a sentence she was demanding in the end.
“Considering the severity of the crime, the defendant’s persistent denial and lack of remorse, I propose a prison sentence of 14 years for Na Song Kang.”
When Prosecutor Yoon Nansul demanded a 14-year prison sentence, the courtroom was in uproar. It was an excessively harsh sentence. Despite the commotion, Song Kang remained seated without any hesitation.
“Defense attorney, present your final statement.”

Haein retrieved the final statement sent by Lain.
“I want to once again earnestly assert the innocence of the defendant. We have repeatedly proven that the evidence presented by the prosecution is irrelevant to the defendant. Furthermore, through numerous evidence submissions, we have asserted the defendant’s innocence.”
It was a final argument as meticulous as the preceding defense. It revisited important points without missing any details.
“Your Honor, the defendant Na Song Kang is a globally recognized business executive. However, today, such matters are not important in this trial. As you can see from the evidence we submitted, the youth Na Song Kang lived like that.”
Song Kang’s eyes, unwavering, lowered slightly.
“As the third generation of a conglomerate, he lived diligently every day to an extent that may be hard to believe. If you examine the thousands of approval documents we submitted, just the documents that need his approval each day amount to hundreds. Also, he attends a minimum of three meetings a day, and although each meeting has a designated start time, the end time is not fixed.”
It was the gaze of Prosecutor Jin Lain that delved into his life. It was also the reason she tried to protect him.
“The prosecution’s claim that he bowed to someone, provided bribes, and enjoyed privileges while doing so is a significant blow to the defendant. Your Honor, I hope you look at the defendant not as the successor of a company but as a young Na Song Kang living in this era.”
This was unexpected as well. It wasn’t Line’s usual attitude of attacking with legal issues like a sharpened sword.
Song Kang decided that he must ask Line why she wrote such a persuasive closing argument that shook people’s hearts whenever they met.
“Defendant, present your final statement.”

At the judge’s words, Song Kang stood up. Despite trying to remain calm, it was a truly difficult task. He expressed gratitude to the trial panel, which had suffered through several trials, and began his final statement.
“To make Taesung a better company, I always strived, but it was not enough. Nevertheless, I have never made a choice that would make me ashamed. I hope you take note of this. I am truly innocent. That’s all.”
With his final statement, the trial concluded. Now, only the judgment of the trial panel remained.
The judges’ faces showed no expression, making it impossible to know what they were thinking. Predicting the outcome solely based on their expressions was an unpredictable task.
In the end, no changes occurred.

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
