“That woman….”
After the shooting ended, So Yi, on her way to the van, spotted Yoon walking with Cheol Yeong.
“Brother, that’s the woman. The one I mentioned before, Cha Kang Hyun’s woman.”
So Yi pointed with her pinky finger while speaking to her manager.
“The one you said you saw when you were in Bali?”
“Yes. Incredible. He even brings her to the shooting set.”
“So Yi, you know you need to be careful what you say, right? If rumors start, there will be trouble.”
“I know!”
So Yi had nearly given up her expectation of getting involved with Kang Hyun since she was cast in this drama.
In the early stages of the drama, Kang Hyun was fairly kind to her, but at some point, he stopped making eye contact except during acting, and even if she happened to start a conversation, he didn’t respond.

Even so, it was outrageous that he treated her like she was invisible, smiling politely and speaking to her face. As the rumor went, Kang Hyun was extremely arrogant.
‘He even brings a woman to the set for fun.’
She was already in a bad mood because she was wearing a rather flashy outfit today and got scolded by the director.
While she, playing the role of Kang Hyun’s accomplice, could hardly dress up properly, the female lead, Shin Young Joo, appeared wearing new clothes as if putting on a fashion show in each episode.
‘I should’ve just done another drama.’
Regardless of it being the most anticipated drama or whatever, she didn’t feel like acting when she was treated like this. It was unbearable to see only the lead, Shin Young Joo, being highly valued.
‘Well, anyway, I’m younger and prettier. She’s old, so she piles on makeup and even uses several reflectors.’
Then So Yi looked at Kang Hyun’s van. She was extremely curious about who this woman was, to be occupying the seat next to the highnosed Cha Kang Hyun.
She was somewhat pretty, but such looks were as common as pebbles kicked aside on the street in this industry.
To be honest, she was much more beautiful than that woman. Of course, she did owe a bit to the miracles of medicine.

‘She seems like a newcomer. I wonder which agency she’s from? She’s pretty capable too. She managed to hook a big fish. Ah, my stomach hurts.’
“Brother, when is the new car coming from the company?”
Suddenly, So Yi, who had been looking at her pitiful van compared to Kang Hyun’s, glared at the back of her manager’s head and asked.
“They said it would be out next month.”
“Does it make sense for Chae So Yi to be driving around in such a car?”
So Yi was irritated, feeling like even the company was neglecting her.
“Hey, move back. I can’t breathe with you next to me.”
So Yi kicked at the leg of Seon Kyung, the stylist who had recently been replaced again. Watching this, her manager shook his head.
It had only been a few months since So Yi had become famous, and during that time, the stylist had already been replaced three times.
‘Enjoy it while it lasts. When you fall, it will be in an instant.’

The veteran manager, who had seen the rise and fall of many celebrities, snorted at the sight of So Yi pouring abuse on Seon Kyung in the rearview mirror.
Chae Min Suk had an intimate dinner with her precious son, Hyun Seung, who had come home early from work.
“Son, eat a lot.”
“Yes.”
Min Suk looked at her son with satisfaction. Hyun Seung, who had graduated from college in the United States last year and returned, had been smart since he was a child and did pretty well in his studies.
However, he always fell short when compared to Kang Hyun. Although he did not attend, Kang Hyun, who was accepted to the top university in the country, was a stark contrast to Hyun Seung, who had not achieved satisfactory grades.
Feeling that he would be compared if he went to a domestic university, he quickly steered towards studying abroad. Fortunately, he was able to earn recognition from Chairman Cha by graduating from a decent university in the United States with excellent grades.
Furthermore, as Hyun Seung was the youngest and Chairman Cha had always favored him since childhood, he was immediately assigned as an assistant manager of the strategic planning team after graduating from college.
When Min Suk heard that Hyun Seung had been assigned to the strategic planning team, she smiled triumphantly. She thought it meant that Hyun Seung had definitely joined the line of successors since he was in charge of key affairs in the company.
“You often call and visit Father, don’t you?”

“Yes.”
Min Suk was confident that Chairman Cha would soon promote Hyun Seung to a higher position.
“You must be careful in everything so as not to disappoint Father, and you must do your best in everything.”
“Yes.”
Since Hyun Seung returned to Korea, the number of people who were wooing them had increased. One of them was Cha Soon Rye, the director of the Woosung Educational Foundation and the sister of Chairman Cha Yoon Chang.
There were also a few among the directors of Woosung Construction. This was evidence that the current Cha Yoo Hyun successor system was shaking.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
