My Husband's Lover (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
“There is no women’s watch purchased under your name last year.”
Under the bright lighting inside the department store, a neatly dressed employee replied. Hae Yeon, who had finally learned the truth, kept her expression under control in front of another person, but the tension around her eyes betrayed her current feelings.
This luxury watch boutique meticulously managed its customer records. Just in case, she had visited several department stores and confirmed that it wasn’t true that she had gifted Joo Ah a watch on her birthday last year.
Hae Yeon stepped out of the department store. A strange tension lingered on her face, now that she had verified Joo Ah’s lie.
Mr. Do Ha’s minor collision.
Words from a Hanwoomul association member.
Joo Ah’s lie.
And many other small details besides. She didn’t know if they were connected, but considering Do Ha’s unusual behavior, she ultimately had no choice but to accept it.
“I’ve lost a year’s worth of memories.”
Back in her car, Hae Yeon acknowledged this fact, and her heart grew heavy. Gazing at the densely packed rows of parked cars on both sides, she bit her lip. No matter how hard she tried to redirect her thoughts elsewhere, it was useless.
“Ugh— snap out of it. This isn’t the time for this.”
Placing a hand over her chest to steady herself, Hae Yeon calmed her restless emotions. So far, all she had uncovered was the fact that she’d lost her memories. She couldn’t afford to indulge in sentimentality—not if she wanted to reach the truth Lee Su Rin had mentioned.
“Let me check the news article again first.”
Without any concrete clues, she had to retrace everything step by step from the beginning. Suddenly, while searching for the article about Do Ha’s minor collision last year that she’d looked up previously, Hae Yeon froze, her hand stiffening mid-air.
She had even bookmarked it just in case—but now the article had vanished without a trace. Hae Yeon stared blankly ahead, unable even to blink.
* * *
Sweet, melancholic music flowed from the radio. Hearing it after a long while, Hae Yeon opened the window while gazing at the garden where wild roses bloomed in full. The yellow daylilies also burst into bloom, clamoring for attention. Lately, she’d been neglecting household chores.
“I have a date with Mr. Do Ha tomorrow.”
They’d finally planned a proper date for this weekend. She wanted to forget her tangled thoughts, even if just for a day.
Thus came Saturday morning.
She’d slept in longer than usual—but even then, it was only 8 a.m. As she tried to get up, Hae Yeon stretched her arm and gently placed her hand on Do Ha’s back.
Her fingers met firm muscles scattered across his body. Seeing his inverted-triangle-shaped back and sharply defined shoulders, she felt a sudden flutter in her chest.
Resting her face against his broad back, she sensed his steady, rhythmic breathing. Matching her breath to his, Hae Yeon felt as though she were a cat lounging on her owner’s lap.
“I love you.”
Mouthing the words quietly, almost inaudibly, Hae Yeon pressed a soft kiss to the back of Do Ha’s head and turned to get out of bed. Just then, a low, quiet baritone voice came from behind her.
“Me too.”
Huh? Hae Yeon turned and looked down at Do Ha.
‘He’s still asleep.’
Apparently, he’d instinctively replied to his wife’s murmured words in his sleep. The corners of Hae Yeon’s lips curved upward beautifully.
After breakfast, they finally set off.
“Is there anything you’d like to do?”
Do Ha asked as he lightly pressed the accelerator. Because of his always-busy schedule, Hae Yeon rarely got to enjoy cultural activities. Thus, she answered immediately, as if she’d been waiting for his question.
“I’d like to watch a movie or a play. How about you?”
“Whatever you prefer.”
Hae Yeon pouted playfully.
“You always make me choose. Hmm— then let’s go see a play today.”
“Alright.”
“What are people watching these days?”
“No idea. Hae Yeon, it’s been ages since we’ve gone out together on a public holiday.”
Do Ha’s long eyes crinkled as he gave a slightly awkward smile. It seemed he felt guilty about how busy he’d been, even on weekends and holidays. He’d always apologized whenever he had to work late or go on business trips.
“Don’t apologize. You didn’t do it on purpose. Let’s just enjoy ourselves today.”
“Let’s do that.”
When Do Ha took her hand, Hae Yeon’s smile spread to her lips. While Do Ha drove, she browsed her phone for plays to watch.
“Hmm— this one looks good.”
“What’s it about?”
“This one…”
Up until then, Hae Yeon had been focused on her screen. She turned her head—and didn’t realize Do Ha had also turned his toward her as he stopped at a red light. In that instant, he leaned in, and their lips met. When Hae Yeon’s face turned red, Do Ha teased her.
“Such a flirt. No one knows my wife is this bold, do they?”
“What? What are you talking about? Do Ha, really.”
Hae Yeon pinched Do Ha’s side, and he feigned pain with an exaggerated groan. Though they’d only just gotten in the car, they were already bubbling with joy and excitement.

“Look at this. It’s about a radio station PD and a DJ falling in love.”
“A romance play?”
“Seems so. The man likes the woman but can’t gather the courage to confess, so he just watches her from the sidelines. The woman also likes him but expresses her feelings too passively. It’s just like how we were when we dated.”
At Hae Yeon’s words, Do Ha raised one eyebrow, clearly dissatisfied. Only after hearing his next words did Hae Yeon understand why he seemed so displeased.
“I didn’t just watch you from the sidelines. I confessed like a real man.”
Touching his chin, Do Ha bragged a little proudly. Though his boastful demeanor didn’t quite suit his large frame, Hae Yeon found him utterly adorable and quickly agreed.
“You’re right. With my timid personality, even if I’d liked you, I probably wouldn’t have dared to confess.”
“Really? But Hae Yeon.”
“Hmm?”
As the light turned red again, Do Ha stopped the car and gazed steadily at Hae Yeon.
“Even if you hadn’t confessed, I never would have let you go.”
Hae Yeon’s cheeks flushed. Do Ha kissed her forehead, then gently pressed the accelerator once the signal changed. Hae Yeon’s left hand found its way back into Do Ha’s right.
“Oh! Do Ha, let’s take a photo too.”
Upon arriving at the theater building, they spotted a photo zone at the entrance symbolizing the play. It was a bit crowded as everyone wanted a shot there—but wasn’t that exactly what made taking photos fun?
How often would Do Ha, a company CEO, ever take pictures like this?
Perhaps sensing Hae Yeon’s mix of playful teasing and genuine desire to preserve memories, Do Ha readily agreed, despite how shy he normally might have been. They handed their phone to a passerby and took a sweet photo together.
After taking pictures and enjoying themselves fully, the two entered the modest theater interior. Though seated toward the back, their center seats offered a clear, direct view of the stage.
As expected, the play revolved around romance. It naturally unfolded experiences familiar to anyone who’d been in love, especially portraying the mismatched expectations between men and women with striking realism that resonated deeply with the audience. Hae Yeon found herself emotionally immersed in the performance.
After the show, they drove to an upscale restaurant located on a scenic overlook. While waiting for their food, they shared their impressions of the play.
The sirloin steak and red wine served during their conversation were more than enough to deepen the mood. The gentle buzz from just the right amount of alcohol, engaging conversation, and delicious food that delighted the palate—Hae Yeon, recognizing the perfect setting, quietly broached a topic with Do Ha.
“Do Ha, there’s something I want to do.”
“Something you want to do?”
Do Ha’s eyes widened in surprise as he stared at her. Given that she rarely expressed her desires openly, his reaction was understandable. After his initial shock, he quickly grew pleased and asked cheerfully,
“What could our dear wife possibly want to do?”
In truth, Hae Yeon had assumed that if she’d truly lost her memories, Do Ha and Joo Ah would have shared information about it. Therefore, she expected he already knew what she was about to say.
After all, if she suddenly expressed a desire to work again despite her memory loss, Joo Ah surely would have told Do Ha about it.
Hae Yeon took a sip of wine to wet her lips and paused deliberately. Do Ha, however, didn’t rush her; he waited patiently.
“…I want to work.”
“Work?”
“Yes. Staying at home all day feels like a waste of time. I want to develop myself and try something new. Is it sudden?”
“No, just unexpected.”
Do Ha’s tone carried no hidden meaning—it genuinely sounded like simple surprise. Though he might have been momentarily startled, he quickly gave a positive response.
“If you work, I’m happy. I’ve been worried about you being alone at home all the time. Though honestly, if you’d said you wanted to go out and have fun instead of work, I’d have liked that even more—but I know you’d never do that.”
Do Ha teased gently, then added with a soft smile,
“Still, if you’re going to work, ask Ms. Joo Ah to help you find a good company. I can at least concede that much.”
Anticipating that Hae Yeon would seek a job without relying on him, Do Ha took the initiative. Hae Yeon had no intention of being stubborn about this and agreed.
In her current situation, rejecting both Do Ha and Joo Ah might make it difficult to start working at all—and even if she did manage to begin, either of them could secretly assign someone to watch over her. If she had to choose someone to monitor her, Joo Ah was the better option.
“Alright. I’ll talk to Joo Ah the next time I see her.”
“Thank you. So, is there anything else you wanted to say?”
Seemingly satisfied with her answer, Do Ha’s eyes crinkled more than before.
Hae Yeon had a question in mind but ultimately held it back and changed the subject.
“No, that’s all.”
“Really? Then eat up quickly.”
Do Ha moved his plate closer to her and spoke gently. The words she hadn’t managed to say lingered on her tongue.
“Was it you who deleted the article?”
Ever since discovering the article had vanished, she’d wanted to ask this—but she knew the truth would reveal itself as she unraveled everything. Accepting the food Do Ha had cut for her, Hae Yeon chose to simply enjoy their date for now.

Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
