Plop. Thud.

Rain poured down as if planned since morning. Hae Yeon, who’d been making a light snack in the kitchen, greeted Do Ha with a bright smile that clashed with the gloomy weather outside as he emerged from his shower.

“Good morning, Mr. Do Ha.”

“What are you making already, so early? Don’t tire yourself out.”

Do Ha came up behind Hae Yeon and wrapped his arms around her in a back hug. The familiar scent of herbs from his just-finished shower filled the air, calming her.

“Is this because of last night’s party? Ah, don’t worry about it.”

Waving her hand dismissively, Hae Yeon turned her head sideways and beamed. Though she’d spent the whole day in uncomfortable clothes and was certainly tired, even that fatigue vanished the moment she saw Do Ha.

“I slept soundly, so I’m not tired at all.”

“Still, you don’t need to do this. Missing one breakfast won’t kill you.”

Huh? Before Hae Yeon could respond, Do Ha released his arms from around her waist, turned her toward him, and took the cooking utensil from her hand. Hae Yeon responded with a gentle, rippling smile.

“Who ever heard of someone dying from skipping a meal? But since I’ve already made it, we should eat it.”

Hae Yeon, refusing to yield to Do Ha’s stubbornness, quietly took the utensil back—Do Ha couldn’t even muster an ounce of resistance before it was snatched away. How could anyone win against someone who smiled so sweetly and teased so adorably?

“Hae Yeon. That was cheating just now.”

“Really? Sorry about that.”

Hae Yeon played innocent. Seeing she clearly had no intention of giving up on cooking, Do Ha finally surrendered.
