The day after the Polledy Bag rigging incident, the office atmosphere wasn’t particularly bad—thanks largely to Yoo Jun’s warning the previous day having had some effect.

Still, it couldn’t be entirely swept under the rug; Hae Yeon could feel uncomfortable glances directed her way. Whenever she entered the Management Support Team office, a few eyes would glance her way, and even when walking down hallways, employees from other departments would stare.

At least, the faces she saw following those gazes all belonged to people who’d been present at the scene yesterday.

“No matter how I look at it, Ms. Hae Yeon was unfairly framed. But I can’t go around explaining it to everyone myself!”

So Jung, who as her senior always stood by Hae Yeon, clearly noticed the harsh scrutiny and grew angry—but just as she said, without any concrete evidence, attempting to clear Hae Yeon’s name would only backfire, so Hae Yeon urged restraint.

After the morning shift, Hae Yeon had lunch alone with So Jung, who was angrier about the incident than even Hae Yeon herself. Joo Ah, having heard about it, seemed eager to come over—but Hae Yeon, though feeling apologetic, had no intention of meeting her until this matter was resolved.

After lunch, Hae Yeon was called in separately by Section Chief Choi and immediately offered an apology.

“I heard about what happened at the Seongsu-dong store yesterday.”

“I’m truly sorry for causing trouble for the company.”

Even though there was no definitive evidence identifying her as the culprit, she had indeed been involved, so Hae Yeon apologized. She genuinely felt remorseful, especially since she’d already caused several disputes with other team leaders since joining the company.

Taken aback by her sincere apology, Section Chief Choi hurriedly waved his hands.

“No, that’s not why I called you in—I’m not asking for an apology. I trust Ms. Min Hae Yeon, our team member. I only wanted you to stay patient and wait a bit, since there’ll inevitably be some rumors circulating in the company.”

“…Thank you so much, Section Chief.”

In truth, Hae Yeon was deeply moved internally. The attitudes shown by Section Chief Choi and Assistant Manager Lee So Jung weren’t the kind of consideration just anyone could easily offer.

In a way, Hae Yeon had been more of a troublesome rookie to them—continuously entangled in incidents ever since her hire—than someone who’d helped them. Yet they still trusted her. How could she remain unmoved?
