More importantly, and though she couldn’t assert it, why would DoHa go to such lengths to hide the fact that she lost her memory right after overcoming the accident? Haeyeon pondered over why she might have lost her memory at that particular point.
Was Chairman Yun the cause?
“It seems I’ll only know once Yunho finds out the rest.”
Of course, Haeyeon wasn’t just going to sit back and wait until Yunho finished his investigation. She firmly gathered her resolve and prepared for bed alone, as DoHa was away on a business trip.
As soon as she lay in bed, she felt drowsy. Maybe it was fatigue from realizing so many things at once. Tonight, she felt she would fall into a deeper sleep than usual.
Two days later.
Having spent a cozy weekend with DoHa, who returned from his business trip, Haeyeon faced the universally disliked Monday.
“Here.”
“Thank you.”
Walking, Haeyeon meticulously checked the documents handed over by the Sales Team 2. Since even a single numerical error could lead to significant losses, confirmation was essential. After thoroughly checking, Haeyeon opened the door to the Management Support Team and headed to the table at the far end.

“Deputy Kim. Here are the documents you requested.”
Upon Haeyeon’s statement, Kim Hyunwoo glanced at her.
“Just leave it there.”
“Okay.”
Returning to her seat, Sojeong told Haeyeon she had done well. As she resumed her work, an irritable voice was heard from behind. It was Choi Joonghyun scolding Kim Hyunwoo.
“The numbers are wrong.”
“That can’t be. Min Haeyeon printed them out.”
“Check again.”
“Okay.”
Hearing her name mentioned in the conversation behind her, Haeyeon felt anxious as Kim Hyunwoo approached.

“Min Haeyeon.”
Haeyeon quickly stood up. Kim Hyunwoo showed her the documents she had just handed over, subtly reproaching her.
“Is this from Sales Team 2?”
“Yes. What’s the matter?”
“The figures don’t match the file. It’s okay since you’re a newcomer, but let’s be more careful in the future.”
Confused and startled, Haeyeon’s eyes widened. She was sure she had double-checked before handing over the documents to Kim. She had even cross-referenced them with the data on her small phone screen.
“I’m sorry.”
It was a frustrating situation, but arguing at this point was futile. Moreover, Kim’s manner suggested that any rebuttal from Haeyeon would only portray her as a resentful newcomer in the eyes of her superiors.
“Making mistakes is natural for a newcomer.”
Choi Joonghyun tried to ease the situation, fearing Haeyeon might feel embarrassed.

“It’s alright. Just print it again. Let’s have another go, Min Haeyeon.”
“……Okay.”
Even though Choi’s words presupposed her mistake, Haeyeon, feeling deflated, returned to her seat.
“I saw you checking with Team 2… Haeyeon, are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine.”
Only Sojeong seemed to offer understanding words. Comforted by her words, Haeyeon once again compared the data on the monitor with the documents.
“Huh? It’s correct.”
Something was off. Upon rechecking, the documents from Sales Team 2 matched perfectly. Feeling uneasy, Kim Hyunwoo approached again.
“Min Haeyeon, sorry, but it looks like you’ll have to go back to Team 2.”
Expecting only to print the changed numbers, Haeyeon, remembering her earlier non-mistake, ended up visiting the sales team.
“Again?”

That was the reaction of the employee from Team 2. They were puzzled when asked to reprint the documents Haeyeon had just collected. Understanding their reaction, Haeyeon apologized for the inconvenience.
“What’s going on?”
Hearing the conversation, the Team Leader of Sales Team 2, who seemed to have been listening, suddenly interjected between Haeyeon and the female employee.
“I’m from Management Support and was asked to get these documents again.”
“What?”
Haeyeon stood there awkwardly. The documents were 40 pages, mostly filled on both sides, and it would take a while to copy all the content.
“What’s your name?”
“I’m Min Haeyeon from Management Support.”
Bowing to Shin Gyusik, the Team Leader of Team 2, Haeyeon felt something odd.
“Min Haeyeon, can’t you see our team is busy? This machine isn’t exclusively for Management Support.”

“I’m sorry.”
Internally questioning if such an issue warranted a team leader’s intervention, Haeyeon could only apologize again.
“Son Miyoung.”
“Yes, Team Leader.”
“Don’t print it.”
“What?”
Son Miyoung was surprised, but at Shin Team Leader’s stern look, she shrunk back.
“If you want it, tell them to print it themselves.”
“Oh…”
The atmosphere in Team 2 froze instantly. As Haeyeon stood unsure of what to do, someone from Management Support entered.

“Min Haeyeon, are you printing the documents Deputy Kim asked for?”
“Ah, that’s…”
Haeyeon awkwardly smiled, and only then did the employee from her team sense the tense atmosphere in Team 2.
“May we use the copier?”
At his request, Shin Team Leader, unlike his response to Haeyeon earlier, relented after a few words.
“Cough, I’ll allow it this time. But don’t ask two or three times in the future.”
“Yes, understood.”
“Understood, Team Leader.”
Though the logic was strange, Haeyeon and the employee apologized and left Team 2. On the way back, the employee hinted to Haeyeon.
“Consider it bad luck, Haeyeon. Shin Team Leader is notoriously difficult in this regard.”

While the employee’s consolation was understandable, Haeyeon kept recalling a phrase from the past.
“Take the opportunity given to you.”
Haeyeon stopped in her tracks.
‘Could it be? This incident…’
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
