During the weekend while Do-ha was away on a business trip, Haeyeon couldn’t stay still and bustled around the house.
As if trying to forget something, Haeyeon repeatedly tidied already clean areas, eventually sighing and flopping down on the sofa.
“It will take some time. Until then, try to forget about this matter. You’ve started working, after all.”
Yoon-ho had said this the day before they parted. As the period she had lost memory of was about eight months, gathering information about the incident would take time, especially since she had to avoid Do-ha and Chairman Yoon’s attention.
She could have sped up the process by not rejecting Yoon-ho’s offer to consolidate the information.
Deciding to ask for all the researched information directly was a decision Haeyeon made after much deliberation, following Yoon-ho’s heartfelt advice. She understood his words and, despite trying to be rational, wasn’t sure if she’d waver when confronted with the truth.
That’s why she made that decision. To engrave even the minutiae of the process in her memory.
“But it still bothers me.”
Was it because she had to spend time alone in the large house? Unfortunately, the lady and Joo-ah had plans for the weekend, and no one else came to mind. Haeyeon didn’t have many acquaintances.
“If Do-ha were here…” Haeyeon inwardly thought. It was ironic that Do-ha’s business trip made it easier to meet Yoon-ho, and even though his presence now would only stir a myriad of thoughts, she still felt a sense of longing.

“Sigh, I should just go to bed.”
Realizing Do-ha wouldn’t return until the next evening, Haeyeon, feeling dejected, decided to sleep. She threw herself onto the king-sized bed, which felt especially large today, and closed her eyes, hoping for tomorrow to come quickly.
Time passed.
Wrapped in darkness, the bedroom was filled with Haeyeon’s steady breathing. Despite her worries, she fell asleep quickly, even dreaming—a rare occurrence since she usually didn’t remember her dreams.
In her dream, Haeyeon was trapped in a white void, unable to see anything. The bright light around her was blinding, and she groaned in discomfort.
“…ugh, eek… Do…ha, don’t…hurt…”
Muttering words she didn’t understand, Haeyeon wandered the dream, drenched in cold sweat. Inaudible noises buzzed around her.
“Haeyeon…”
A familiar voice called out from somewhere. Struggling to escape, Haeyeon tried desperately to respond, held back by something.
“Haeyeon…”

Focusing amidst the chaotic noise, she faintly heard the voice. Overwhelmed with longing, Haeyeon tried to respond.
“Do-ha…”
“Haeyeon!”
“Uh!”
Suddenly jolted back to reality, Haeyeon sat up, startled by the voice. Gasping for air, she didn’t even notice the hands holding her.
“Hah, huff… hah… hoo…”
“Haeyeon, are you okay? Are you back with us?”
“Ugh, uh. Yes, yes?”
Confused, she responded to the figure before her, unable to recognize them through tear-blurred eyes.
The figure said nothing more, just gently wiping her tears with a handkerchief pulled from the bedside table drawer.

As the handkerchief approached, Haeyeon naturally closed her eyes. Exhausted from the struggle, she soon began to breathe evenly again, falling back asleep.
“…”
Realizing Haeyeon had fallen asleep, he removed the handkerchief from her face and quietly walked to the bathroom. He returned with a cold, wet towel and silently wiped her body to prevent her from catching a cold from the sweat.
Efficiently completing all the tasks and tidying up, he changed clothes and laid down on the bed.
Turning towards the bedside, he intertwined his fingers and gazed at Haeyeon for a long time before finally closing his eyes.

Haeyeon woke up without an alarm, groaning with unexplained fatigue.
“Why am I like this, even though I went to bed early?”
Pondering if it was due to age, she felt an unusual weight on her body.
“Huh?”
Her eyes widened. Do-ha’s left wrist was visible on the blanket she was covered with. Upon closer inspection, she realized Do-ha was firmly holding her hand with his right hand.

‘Didn’t Do-ha say he would be home this evening?’
Seeing Do-ha, who seemed to have returned late into the night, Haeyeon curled up beside him, gazing at him endlessly.
She felt a pang of pity, having not noticed his return. Clearly, he must have had a tough time arriving late at night.
Suppressing a sigh, Haeyeon looked at him empathetically. Perhaps sensing her gaze, Do-ha slowly opened his heavy eyelids.
“Do-ha, it’s still early. You should sleep more.”
Wishing to let him rest, Haeyeon whispered in a soft, soothing tone that could lull anyone back to sleep. Yet, Do-ha didn’t give in.
Watching him get up, Haeyeon internally swallowed her disappointment. No, this isn’t bad. Since he’s up, it’s a good chance to satisfy her curiosity.
“But when exactly did you come? You said you’d be home in the evening.”
“…”
An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most
One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.
This novel has the following triggers, so if you’re sensitive to these, please don’t read:
1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.
It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.
(This applies to her relationships with Male Lead 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well, but she’s loyal in each 1-on-1 relationship!)
2. In this novel, Male Lead 2 and the female lead kiss in a car, and Male Lead 1 sees it and beats up Male Lead 2.
The female lead calls the police and sends both Male Lead 1 and 2 to the police station! Male Lead 1 begs the female lead not to break up with him.
3. Male Lead 1 has a gentle appearance but an obsessive personality.
Male Lead 2 has a delicate and soft appearance, slightly green tea-like (two-faced).
Male Lead 3 is a youthful college student and a smart person who has secretly liked the female lead for a long time.
Male Lead 4 is the female lead’s father’s special assistant, a business elite with deep, hidden thoughts.
4. At the beginning of this novel, the female lead has already broken up with Male Lead 1 (Chapter 4) and gotten back together with Male Lead 2 (ex-boyfriend).
5. Enter with caution if you have triggers!!!
