After dinner, Doha and Haeyeon left the main house and walked side by side without immediately getting into the car.
The air, which had changed again from a few days ago, was extremely cold.
Haeyeon took a deep breath down to her lungs.
As the cool air spread through her stuffy chest, her heart became lighter.
Suddenly, memories from her childhood came to mind.
In fact, Haeyeon didn’t like winter.
She preferred warm food to the point of having a constitution that favored warmth, but the main reason was that she had experienced bitter winters for several years since she was young.
The feeling of how cold and harsh such a winter could be was something only those without family could understand.
However, today, for some reason, it didn’t feel cold. It was just her heart.
“Doha, it snowed for the first time earlier.”

“When?”
“About an hour ago? But I’m not sure. It might have just looked that way to my eyes.”
Even though Haeyeon’s words were confusing even to herself, Doha smiled faintly.
“If you say so, then it must be. Leaving that aside, Haeyeon-ah, why did you suggest a walk while shivering like this?”
Doha, who had stopped walking, took off his coat and put it on Haeyeon’s shoulders, asking. It was warm even though it was cold.
Haeyeon smiled mysteriously, wondering how to explain this strange feeling.
“Because there’s someone to do this for me?”
Looking down at Haeyeon, who was smiling broadly, Doha’s eyes were profound.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m okay.”

She answered confidently and laughed, but Haeyeon wasn’t really okay.
Thinking about what had happened at the main house a while ago made her heart heavy.
From Yun Myung-gil to Chagi-jung, Han Yoon-seo, and Lee Su-rin. Just facing them all in one place was difficult enough.
Especially seeing Han Yoon-seo so casually, that was the most challenging.
The voice she heard in her faint consciousness as she tumbled down the stairs, that chilling and dull voice, was still vivid.
The words she had said to Han Yoon-seo in the garden left a bitter aftertaste rather than satisfaction.
That bothered her. Even after finishing all the revenge, she couldn’t shake off the painful wounds.
“Doha.”
With her fingers clasped, Haeyeon slowed her steps and looked up at Doha. His black eyes softened gently.
“Will the rest of the winter be warm?”

Though it was a quite ordinary and unromantic answer, due to the overwhelming emotions, Haeyeon showed Doha her face and buried it quickly in his chest.
“Haeyeon-ah.”
“……”
After calling her, Doha couldn’t say anything else.
The thin line that leaned against his chest seemed even more fragile today.
Why didn’t Haeyeon know that the words she just spoke were nothing short of a confession?
For two months, wandering through the vicissitudes, she vaguely felt it. Seeking forgiveness from herself while confessing her love to her wife.
During that long period, I found myself awkward, wasting time helplessly without denying or consoling.
Doha wrapped his arms around Haeyeon’s slender shoulders. Although it was a painful experience, it wasn’t all bad.
Finally, the secrets they had hidden beneath their hearts for each other were revealed.
“Today, I know that you’ve been strong. So…”

Doha didn’t want to define the time Haeyeon had today in Daechi-dong as ‘difficult.’
Because saying so might make what they were currently doing even more challenging.
I’ll handle it, Doha. Let me repay what I’ve endured.
When she said that, Doha couldn’t see Haeyeon’s expression, but he could imagine what it might have been like.
Unlike what Doha saw in Haeyeon, he had learned last year through pain that she wasn’t a weak person.
He just wanted her to be a little less burdened during her revenge.
“Let’s go back. To our home.”
As he whispered, Haeyeon, who had lifted her face from his chest, showed a reddened eye area and a nose that had turned red.
Doha’s chest tightened, and he gently wiped Haeyeon’s eye area.
Her light brown eyes, with wet eyelashes carefully lifted, sparkled like fish scales.

“Haeyeon-ah.”
“…Yes?”
“Let’s watch the first snow together next year.”
Haeyeon’s laughter scattered in the night breeze.
While the two were having a warm date, Yunseo and Dohoon were walking separately towards their parked cars.
As soon as Yunseo got into the car, her face contorted involuntarily.
It was a headache, and the strange behaviors of Minhaeyeon and the sudden actions of Isurin were incomprehensible.
‘After several months, why now?’
Surely, the matter Yunseo had firmly dealt with from the chairman’s side, why Minhaeyeon was stirring it up now was beyond her understanding.
You’ll regret not being able to kill me that day.

Just thinking about it still sent shivers down her spine. The sharp and intense blow made Yunseo purse her lips.
The lights from the distance outside the car window created stains on her face.
Together.
Ultimately, the end of Minhaeyeon’s words condensed into that one word.
Together? If so, did she have to endure this awkwardness? Yunseo looked away from the window.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
