It’s all your fault that Doha unfastened his seatbelt!
The prospective in-law shouted at Haeyeon whenever he drank or felt low. It wasn’t an incorrect statement. Because of her, he unfastened the seatbelt, placed the handbag in the back, and insisted on driving even though she was pregnant.
It’s not your fault, please don’t blame yourself.
Although Dohui comforted her countless times, the deeply ingrained self-blame didn’t disappear.
“Sigh.”
Haeyeon, who sighed, remembered the first time she took hold of the steering wheel again when she went out to the main road to catch a taxi.
Heok, heuk. Huhu…….
The moment she held the steering wheel, cold sweat broke out, and her heart pounded. Breathing was not easy, as if her mouth was forcibly blocked.
‘It will get better.’
Haeyeon repeatedly clenched and unclenched her empty hands, recalling the first time she went down the alley.

And the time to solve that problem did not take as long as she thought.
“Ha, haha. …I woke up a little earlier today.”
Having sat in the driver’s seat, Haeyeon, who used to lose focus and be confused, had gradually shortened the time that triggered seizures through practice.
“Now it’s 10 minutes.”
Compared to the first hour of wandering, it was a significant improvement. However, even after delaying it for 10 minutes, sitting in the driver’s seat was still challenging.
‘If I try a little harder, it can work.’
Haeyeon believed that she could drive if she made a little more effort. She believed that time would solve many things, unaware that it couldn’t cure everything.
The incident happened shortly after that.
Haeyeon, who had reduced the time spent struggling in the car to 5 minutes, entered a sort of plateau. However hard she tried not to lose focus in the car, she couldn’t press the accelerator pedal.
‘But now I can sit in the driver’s seat.’

Thinking that way was too complacent. She overlooked the fact that sitting in the driver’s seat was meaningless if she couldn’t start the car. And so, time passed.
On a day when summer was deepening. That day, too, was a day when she was making food for the prospective in-law in Daecheong-dong.
It was after finishing cooking and looking around the house. Haeyeon, who checked the house once a week because Doha could be discharged anytime, found that four hours had passed when she came out.
When Haeyeon wiped away sweat to avoid the sun sinking above her head, her body stiffened as soon as she checked her phone, which was suddenly ringing.
A call from Dr. Moon, who was Doha’s attending physician and the doctor who handled him during the traffic accident. Haeyeon’s heart sank suddenly. The fact that Dr. Moon called directly might not necessarily mean something bad. However, on that day, Haeyeon had a premonition.
Intuition that something might have happened to Doha.
“…Yes, Dr. Moon.”
Haeyeon answered cautiously, hiding her trembling voice. In her mind, she kept denying that it might be something bad. However, contrary to Haeyeon’s hope, the other person seemed desperate.
[Mrs., something happened to Master Doh!]Dr. Moon was not an impatient person. The fact that he urgently called meant without a doubt that a problem had occurred. As Haeyeon realized the gravity of the situation, her heart thumped loudly. She tried to ask more, but to make matters worse, her phone battery ran out.
Haeyeon fell into despair. It was even a waste of time to borrow a phone from a passerby to make a call. However, what should she take to get there? Public transportation was out of the question when Doha’s condition was urgent, and, on that day, even an empty taxi was not available.
As Haeyeon was dragging her feet, she unconsciously took out the car key, which she always kept but never used. When she saw her own car parked in the garage, she sighed without realizing it.

“Ah.”
How could she express the emotion she felt at that moment in words? Despite Doha’s urgent condition, she had no choice but to be helpless, as if she would scream when Dr. Moon called directly.
The reason was the image of herself being powerless when Doha turned the steering wheel at the time of the accident.
Nothing had changed from back then. She was still incompetent, and there was no change in her inability to help Doha despite her daily efforts.
“…How long will this continue.”
He is in a critical condition. Thinking about Doha, who threw himself to save herself and the baby, Haeyeon felt as if she had been hit on the head with a hammer. Regret was enough with just one time.
Thud. Opening the car door and sitting in the driver’s seat, Haeyeon could finally press the accelerator pedal. Whatever it was, it depended on her determination. Once she grabbed the steering wheel, only one thing came to mind. Doha!
When Haeyeon arrived at the hospital, she rushed to Doha without taking a breath. Fortunately, Doha was okay. He returned to stable breathing during the time it took to come to the hospital.
“Sigh.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
