My Husband's Cinderella (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 21
Afterward, Coon dismissed everyone—Kalis, his own royal guards excluded, and all other attendants.
Left utterly alone, Chloe looked around. Though the number of people had noticeably dwindled, the tension had only grown thicker.
Just one person.
Could the gaze of merely one man be this oppressive? Even combined, the stares of the departed knights could never match the intensity of the man before her.
“Lift your head, Princess.”
At the Emperor’s command, Chloe raised her head.

Yet the atmosphere was far from suitable for asking, so she remained silent and waited for his next words.
“Now that I think of it, this is the first time we’ve spoken like this.”
“Thank you for granting me this honored moment.”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

Damn. These sure some assumptions to be making, not only about the man but also the people around him. However, it is probably true that he is unsympathetic to common suffering of the masses, what with them being beneath him and all.
Well, that’s sad and all, not something one should have to do to survive, but it doesn’t change that fact that you have neither sympathy nor charity in your soul and so aren’t worth any sympathy or charity from others.
