My Husband Has Changed (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 66
“I….”
Adel’s throat quivered faintly, sensing she was about to hear something shocking. She barely managed to steady herself.
“I don’t understand what Your Highness is asking me. What could my husband possibly have told me?”
“Is it not true that His Majesty is pushing to annul your marriage to the Grand Duke?”
Adel stared at him with utterly bewildered eyes, and Mikhail clicked his tongue lightly. His narrowed gaze settled on her face, as if looking at someone foolish or pitiful.
“So you really didn’t know.”
Her mouth went bone-dry. Adel realized her palms were already damp with sweat.
Mikhail let out a deep sigh and ran his fingers through his hair, tousled by the breeze.
“I assumed the Duke must have explained at least part of this madness to you… Could it be he agreed to the annulment as well? If so, I must have misjudged him.”
Mikhail’s cold voice brimmed with deep contempt toward Valentin. Adel bit her lip in confusion.
She unconsciously squeezed her skirt several times before letting go. Whether she believed the Crown Prince or not, his words were so startling that she could only stand there dumbfounded.
‘If that’s true, since when exactly?’
Thinking back, Valentin had been extremely busy ever since they arrived at the imperial palace.
He’d often left his quarters even in the middle of the night, and there were days when she hadn’t seen his face at all.
Even on the rare occasions he returned early, he’d immediately be summoned by His Majesty.
