Kyung Joon hastily picked up the fallen oxygen mask. At the same time, Jo Seo Ha suddenly collapsed like a marionette whose strings had been cut, her head dropping heavily as she fell limp.

“Ms. Jo Seo Ha!”

He barely managed to stretch out a hand and stop her from hitting the floor. Carefully yet quickly lowering her down to avoid injury, Kyung Joon reached for the oxygen mask to place it over Yoon Seo Ha’s face.

At that moment, Yoon Seo Ha moved. More precisely, her eyebrows twitched as if in a spasm. It was subtle—almost imperceptible—but it was a biological response beyond merely having a heartbeat and breathing.

“Yoon Seo Ha?”

Another twitch.

His heart pounded wildly. Kyung Joon realized he’d just been holding the mask without using it and quickly placed it over Yoon Seo Ha’s face.

“Yoon Seo Ha. Can you hear me? Are you listening?”

There was no further response. He wanted nothing more than to hold her and call her name again and again, but Jo Seo Ha still lay unconscious.

Kyung Joon pressed the call button, then lifted Jo Seo Ha’s head from the floor into his arms.

“Ms. Jo Seo Ha. Wake up. Ms. Jo Seo Ha.”

“…….”

Jo Seo Ha’s eyebrows twitched in a spasm—just like Yoon Seo Ha had a moment ago—and then slowly, she opened her eyes.

Her unfocused, dazed gaze seemed to look at Kyung Joon, yet also past him toward something far away.

“Ms. Jo Seo Ha.”
