Throughout the car ride, Jo Seo Ha was busy checking things. She took out a checklist from her large bag and went over it one by one, and also tried to memorize the order of the outfits. She even attempted to apply lipstick at a red light.
“Do it when we arrive. I’ll try to get there as quickly as possible.”
Before the wheels started rolling again, Kyung Joon stretched out his arm and held Jo Seo Ha’s shoulder area.
“It’s ruined. The youngest is coming in last.”
“Well, that can happen.”
Fortunately, traffic wasn’t too congested. Kyung Joon found the only empty spot in the parking lot and parked the car.
“I’ll just apply this and get out.”
Jo Seo Ha took out lipstick and a tissue and started applying it carefully.
The bright red lipstick covered her pale, almost sicklylooking lips. It occurred to Kyung Joon that he had never seen Jo Seo Ha with proper makeup before.
Should he open the door for her? It was a special day, after all.
Kyung Joon got out of the car and tapped the passenger door. Jo Seo Ha looked at him through the slightly lowered window while twisting her lipstick back in.
“Thank you for the ride. I’m sincerely grateful.”
A small, round ear peeked out from under the tightly gathered hair. Kyung Joon slightly regretted not buying earrings for Jo Seo Ha’s earlobes, which had only small holes without any sparkling accessories.
“Can I open the door now?”
“Since when did you open car doors for me?”
Kyung Joon chuckled and opened the passenger door, helping Seo Ha out of the car.
Click.
Her simple black high heels stepped onto the parking lot floor. Jo Seo Ha’s pale skin, seemingly untouched by sunlight, went well with her slim silhouette and the black suit she wore.
The makeup completed with just a red lipstick surprisingly gave off a chic vibe.
“You look like a designer today.”
“Well, because I am a designer.”
Jo Seo Ha raised the corners of her mouth and smiled faintly. The surprising thing was that even though he had never seen her wearing heels before, her posture seemed natural, as if she had been wearing high heels until yesterday.
“Thanks to you, I made it on time. I’ll go up first, so I’ll see you later.”
“Alright.”
Her hurried walk looked very comfortable. He remembered not seeing any heels in her shoe rack.
“…Well, never mind.”
As soon as Jo Seo Ha disappeared from sight, Kyung Joon turned around and walked slowly toward the black foreign car parked opposite.
Knock knock.
He tapped on the heavily tinted driver’s side window, but there was no response. Kyung Joon knocked on the car window more forcefully and irritably.
Knock knock knock knock knock!
Finally, the window opened slightly, revealing the stillunpleasant face of Lee Ji Soo after such a long time.
“What, what is it?”
“Long time no see, Team Leader Lee Ji Soo.”
Kyung Joon spoke with an utterly unwelcoming expression and tone. Feeling an eerie sensation, Ji Soo swallowed her dry saliva.
“Move, I have to go up now.”
“Why are you not going up if you’re so busy and instead peering at someone else’s car so gloomily?”
He had felt her gaze from the moment she got out of the driver’s seat. It didn’t take long to realize that the car across from them belonged to Lee Ji Soo.
He could just let her go. If only there was a guarantee that Lee Ji Soo wouldn’t bother Jo Seo Ha with childish antics again.
“Move, I said!”
“Of course.”
Kyung Joon very politely opened the car door for Lee Ji Soo. Hesitating for a moment, Ji Soo got out of the car with her chin held high, like a noble lady stepping out of a carriage.
Thud.
Kyung Joon slammed the car door shut and moved to block Ji Soo’s path.
“Don’t bother spreading useless rumors. I can see what you’re thinking. If I hear any lowquality rumors like ‘Jo Seo Ha hooked up with Ryu Kyung Joon’ after this, I’ll know they came from Team Leader Lee Ji Soo.”
“Do I look idle enough to spread such rumors?”
“I believe you’re busy. You must be if you want to return to work without any issues.”
Kyung Joon threw a pointed remark and walked past Ji Soo to open his own car door. His back felt hot as he smoothly pulled out of the parking lot, but it didn’t bother him too much.
A product evaluation meeting at a clothing company like Kang Yoon’s was as big as a new season fashion show. Models, both male and female, ran around behind the runway, and designers were on the verge of losing their minds trying to manage their creations and props.
“Jo Seo Ha still hasn’t arrived? Does that youngest designer have a conscience or not?”
Jung Se Hee exclaimed irritably. Even when everyone was so busy, it was natural for the youngest designer to be at the beck and call of their seniors.
But the youngest designer, who should have arrived first, still hadn’t shown up, making the seniors very displeased.
“Jo Seo Ha still hasn’t come? The youngest should be here from dawn…!”
Just as Jung Se Hee was about to yell irritably, her gaze suddenly fixed on the entrance. Following her gaze, the other designers and models instinctively turned their heads.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
