In fact, it was Ji Soo, not Seung Oh, who was most afraid of that event which might happen someday.
It can’t be. She’s been in a vegetative state for three years already.
Ji Soo left the representative’s office with hopeful thoughts and stopped abruptly. It was because Kyung Joon was standing in front of the door with his arms crossed.
“What, what is it?”
As always, overt contempt was evident in Kyung Joon’s eyes as he looked at Ji Soo.
“You’re hanging around the representative’s office since morning, Team Leader.”
“Wh, why, why?”
“You seem to be losing your caution. I’ll let the representative know to be careful.”
“Fr, from today, new employees are coming in, so I went up early because of that!”
“I don’t know what that has to do with anything. Be careful.”
No one in the company could treat Kyung Joon casually. He was called more of a director than a secretary, and in practice, he wielded more influence than Lee Seung Oh.
Among the employees, there was a joke saying, “If it weren’t for Director Ryu, the company would have gone bankrupt.”
“Hmph!”
Still unable to accept that reality, Ji Soo snorted and went down to the design room.
The spacious design room was filled with all sorts of fabrics and materials, leaving no room to step. Due to the dust being more abundant than the air, masks with filters were provided in boxes, but when everyone was absorbed in their work, they tended to forget about them.
I really missed this place.
Seo Ha stood in front of the door she had entered and exited hundreds, if not thousands, of times like a stranger, looking at the place.
“Ah, an intern?”
One of the busy employees noticed Seo Ha and asked. Judging by the faint dark circles under her eyes, she seemed to be a junior employee who had not been with the company for long.
“Yes. I’m starting today as an intern, Jo Seo Ha…”
“Uh, sit over there.”
The employee casually pointed to a corner seat with her finger.
Seo Ha was very flustered. She had tried so hard to maintain courtesy and respect for one another within this office, at least. Treating an intern like this as if they were beneath them?
“Why are you standing there so stupidly? You’re in the way, go sit down.”
Another unfamiliar employee showed annoyance. Seo Ha went to her assigned seat and sat down.
What’s going on? Is Kang Yoon really going bankrupt?
In the midst of confusion, a woman entered the office. At the same time, everyone except Seo Ha and two other new employees stood straight and bowed towards the door.
“Lee Ji Soo, Team Leader, has arrived!”
Now it was not only unbelievable but also dizzying.
What’s with this atmosphere? Is this the army or what? Were they taken by Three Star?
Ji Soo looked around the office, soon found Seo Ha, and approached her with the sound of her heels clicking.
“Oh, our new employees. Nice to meet you.”
Her beaming smile couldn’t have looked more kind.
“Everyone, say hello. This is Hwang Ju Hee, and here is Jung So Yeon. And Jo Seo Ha. Seo Ha is an intern, so teach her well. Got it?”
Three years had passed since Ji Soo sat in that café and poured out her spite. To Seo Ha, however, that day felt like just yesterday.
The anger she thought she had suppressed rippled from deep within. Seo Ha tried not to show it and cast her eyes downward, only to discover the shoes on Ji Soo’s feet.
They were Seo Ha’s shoes. She vividly remembered flying to France immediately after work to buy those limitededition shoes that were sold exclusively to her.
“What are you looking at?”
Seo Ha raised her gaze at Ji Soo’s question.
It struck her to the core once again. The fact that Lee Seung Oh and Lee Ji Soo had taken and destroyed everything that belonged to Yoon Seo Ha.
“The shoes… they’re pretty.”
“These?”
Ji Soo casually looked at her shoes and snickered.
“They must be pretty. They were the hottest design from the Paris collection. I had a hard time getting these.”
It was me who had a hard time getting them. How could she blatantly lie while wearing my stolen shoes?
Seo Ha clenched and then unclenched her fist without anyone noticing. And she firmly established the character of Jo Seo Ha who would push through in this office.
“Huh? Paris collection? Not Milan?”
The invincible character that no one could ever beat was “innocent.”
“Milan? What are you talking about?”
“That’s from the 2018 Milan collection. It was a big deal for a while after the fashion week when it was the last one to come out, don’t you remember?”
For the first time, Jo Seo Ha’s ordinary and kindlooking appearance pleased her. When she spoke with such a sparkling and naive look in her eyes, it didn’t feel out of place at all.
“Jo Seo Ha, you seem to know a lot for an intern. But this is definitely from the Paris collection. Isn’t that right, Yoon Jung?”
“Yes. It’s from the 2018 Paris collection.”
The employee who seemed to be the most observant in the room quickly responded. Seo Ha let out an ambiguous nasal sound.
“It is Milan, though… It seems Team Leader got confused. Did you personally go and buy them?”
“Yes, I went to Paris and bought them myself.”
“Please take a look at the bottom of the shoe. In the middle of the sole, you’ll find the artisan’s name and the team leader’s name written in Italian.”
“Why should I do that?”
Ji Soo sharply questioned. Not only the existing employees but also the new hires who joined with Seo Ha quietly broke into a cold sweat.
Seo Ha pretended not to notice the hints from behind, begging her to stop, and she responded with an innocent smile.
“I could be wrong, you know. As an intern, I’m here to learn, so if I’m mistaken, the team leader should correct me!”

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
