Yoon Seo Ha wandered through a very long dream until she suddenly regained consciousness. However, she couldn’t open her eyes. Just like the moment she received the death sentence, the connection between her body and will was completely severed.
Creak.
The sound of a door opening was heard. Soon after, footsteps of a few people approached.
“Miss, we’re here.”
The cheerful greeting came from Lee Ji Soo, a woman.
“Honey, you don’t have to greet her every single time.”
The man who laughed adorably was Lee Seung Oh.
Anger boiled within Yoon Seo Ha. But there was nothing she could do. All she could do was lie there like a corpse, listening to the two of them bickering.
“Ah, don’t do that. What if the caregiver comes back?”
“She went out to eat. She won’t be back for at least an hour.”

“But still… Ahh!”
The sound of their physical contact grew louder. Yoon Seo Ha went from anger to a terrible sense of selfloathing. To think she had loved such a scumbag who fooled around with another woman in the hospital room where his comatose wife lay.
Knock knock.
Thankfully, someone knocked lightly on the door, and the cursed sound of their physical contact stopped.
“You’re the guardian, I see.”
It was the doctor. Yoon Seo Ha tried hard to move her eyes, hoping he might notice her regained consciousness, but it was in vain.
“How is she doing?”
Lee Seung Oh asked with a worried tone.
“Physically, she’s actually in good health. However, it’s impossible to predict when she’ll wake up. To be honest, we don’t even know if she can wake up.”
The doctor gave an incorrect diagnosis, even though Seo Ha, who was already conscious, was right in front of him. She knew it wasn’t the doctor’s fault, but she couldn’t help but resent him.

“Is it about what we discussed last time?”
Lee Seung Oh asked. Though he thought he asked secretly, the doctor bluntly expressed his question in straightforward words.
“If you’re talking about discontinuing life support, that’s not possible.”
“But you said you don’t even know if she can wake up.”
“It’s only been three months. Whether it’s been three months or three years, discontinuing life support is only allowed for patients who are effectively in a braindead state.”
Yoon Seo Ha learned two things from the doctor’s words. She had been lying like this for three months already. Lee Seung Oh had wanted to discontinue life support, which meant he wanted her death, even before those three months were over.
“I understand. It’s just that my wife looked like she was in so much pain…”
It wasn’t a line that a man who was fooling around with his mistress in his suffering wife’s hospital room should say.
The short examination ended, and the doctor left. Only the three people remained in the room: Yoon Seo Ha, Lee Seung Oh, and Lee Ji Soo.
“Nothing ever goes right.”

Ji Soo complained to the grumbling Seung Oh.
“Don’t say that. It’s scary.”
“What’s so scary? The truly scary thing is…”
Lee Seung Oh stood up and opened Yoon Seo Ha’s tightly shut eyelids with two fingers. He didn’t find the sight of his own reflection in her unfocused, dolllike eyes particularly pleasant.
“Yoon Seo Ha suddenly opens her eyes like this and sits up.”
He withdrew his fingers and closed Seo Ha’s slightly opened eyelids completely.
“And then she says, ‘What happened to the divorce papers? Is the alimony ready? Get out of the company now. Leave the house, the car, and the watch that my mother gave you. All of it!'”
As Lee Ji Soo laughed, she pulled his arm to lean on him.
“What does it matter? All I need is you, brother.”
“I need those things to make you happy, my princess.”

Ji Soo had lived a life full of hardship up until now. Seung Oh didn’t want her to suffer any more. Of course, he had no intention of suffering himself either.
“That car was too sturdy. How can it still be intact after being hit by a truck? If I had known, I would have asked for it to be hit by a dump truck, not a porter.”
Seung Oh grumbled with a regretful voice.
A shiver ran down Seo Ha’s spine.
‘Did he just say he would have asked for it to be hit by a dump truck? Was the truck accident that put me in this condition not an accident at all?’
“It’s not completely intact. She can’t open her eyes.”
“Exactly. How nice would it have been if it just ended? She could have died in peace, and I could have inherited her assets easily.”
“Stop talking like that. I’m really scared.”
“You’re stuttering again.”
“When I get nervous, I can’t help it…”

Seung Oh snickered.
“Let’s go. We need to visit the motherinlaw’s hospital room and then head to the office. We’re short on time. I won’t even be able to drink a cup of coffee before going in.”
“You’re always short on time. Is being a company president always this busy?”
“You tell me. Aren’t you busy just managing one design team?”
“I’m busy, but…”
“You’re cute.”
“I’m not cute, okay?”
Ji Soo naturally reached out and wrapped her arm around Seung Oh’s neck. Their lips were about to get closer, and the atmosphere was turning intimate.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
