He had originally intended to reprimand Serena for her tardiness, but the sight of her unexpected beauty left his mind suddenly blank.

The Chief Steward placed tea before Serena, who sat diagonally opposite Lucas, and soon only the two of them remained in the reception room—a privilege permitted by her status as his fiancée, regardless of her own assertions.
