When the Crown Prince and Crown Princess concluded their official tour, the streets of the capital swarmed with citizens eager to catch a glimpse of their procession returning to the imperial palace.

“Shall I draw back the curtain for a moment?”

Lucas, dressed in formal attire, asked, and Serena nodded after steeling herself.

Though they had ridden all the way from the Gray Mansion, they needed to show the people that they had returned properly in an imperial carriage.

“Ready?”

“Yes.”

At her reply, Lucas drew back the carriage curtain.

Despite the knights maintaining order, the crowd surged forward even more fervently, desperate to get a closer look at Their Imperial Highnesses.

“Hmm… They’re more popular than I expected.”

Serena offered an elegant smile and waved toward the window.

“Let me help.”

Though his words sounded rather odd, Lucas mirrored her dignified smile and waved from the opposite window. Each time they did so, the citizens who caught sight of them erupted into cheers, shouting all manner of things.

“Lucas?”

Still keeping her lips curved upward, Serena asked him as if ventriloquizing.

“How much longer… do we have to keep this up?”
