The identity revealed, the separate building where Lucas had stayed yesterday had been brilliantly adorned, shining bright. After bathing in hot water, Lucas carelessly took off his shirt and sat on the sofa.

“The color of the wine seems strange.”

The Duke’s servant had offered to serve dinner, but having wandered around the Astel duchy all day and eaten so much, he had no choice but to decline because he was full.

Then, the servant brought up some biscuits, wine, and a few fruits before leaving.

“It’s not wine, Your Highness.”

“Huh?”

“When Your Highness was bathing, the servant brought it up and I asked him about it. It’s a fruit wine made from berries in Astel.”

Lucas, who had wandered all over the continent, knew what Astel berries were. But the fact that there was alcohol made from those berries, the more he knew about this territory, the more mysterious it seemed.

“Pour it and see.”

As Cedric poured the thin and long glass with fruit wine, it twinkled beautifully with a red and translucent light. Lucas picked up the glass, savored the scent of the wine for a moment, and took a sip.

“Heh….”

With a strange noise, Lucas soon downed the whole glass.

“It’s sweet and refreshing. But the aftertaste is very clean. Will you have a glass?”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

Cedric’s eyes widened after tasting the fruit wine.

“It has a different flavor from wine. They’ve preserved the sweetness of the fruit itself, giving it a refreshing taste.”

“Scary.”

Lucas muttered quietly and then drank another glass.

“By next year, not only Astel berries but also Astel fruit wine will become a trend across the continent.”

Products made from Astel berries were already a speciality, and the quality was guaranteed by name alone, a safe item. But the development of Astel seemed to go beyond that.

“After finishing the engagement ceremony, wandering for 6 years.”

The duty of the Thern Royal Family had been fulfilled. Therefore, Lucas had to participate in the battlefield as royalty in place of the weakened former emperor.

And with the remaining time, he went around looking at the actual situation, a very proud growing period for the crown prince.

“Wandering and going back and forth from the battlefield, but my fiancée has quietly done great things here.”

Today, following the drawings of riddles on the map, a plethora of new cultural artifacts greeted the two men.

“I was honestly quite surprised.”

At the factory that makes jams and homemade fermentation solutions called Astel berries, women were working, and there was also a facility to sterilize and label bottles in the same building.

“It was something not even found in the capital.”

Not only that, following a symbol resembling a dragonfly, there was a windmill as tall as a castle tower.

The windmill itself was not surprising, but the fact that the windmill building used the wind’s power to grind livestock feed was astonishing.

“It did what ten farmers wouldn’t have been enough for.”

Lucas, thanks to wandering, knew the lives of the people quite well. Perhaps in that aspect, he was the most outstanding of all the emperors.

“Yes. Moreover, the children were being educated.”

At the symbol drawn as a pen on the map, children were gathered, learning arithmetic.

“Yeah, and they were not nobles, just the children of the subjects.”

Lucas still seemed to mutter incredulously and drank another glass of fruit wine.

“Where on earth will those children use arithmetic? Even noble children don’t learn that.”

“I don’t know. They seemed to learn a few other things, but… the teacher wasn’t a noble either.”

“Yes. Everything about it makes no sense.”

Lucas nodded his head. Teaching commoners’ children was the epitome of absurdity. As soon as they could walk, it was normal for subjects to help with work.

But to learn arithmetic with chalk on slates was something unbelievable if he hadn’t seen it himself.

“Most of all… didn’t a divine calamity befall Astel?”

“Yes, I clearly saw the record, about 5 and a half years ago.”

A natural disaster was the will and calamity of God. It was something that humans could never resist and simply had to accept.

“In other words, after Her Highness came here.”

“Yes.”
“Then is this disaster all just a matter of course, and these things are possible?”

There was no way Cedric knew the inside story.

“Forget it, we must ask the party concerned. Summon the servant.”

“Now, is that what you mean?”

“Yes.”

Cedric, who nodded his head, stood up and went out the door. He exchanged a few words with the servant and then returned to his seat, his face a little pale.

“Why? Is Her Highness refusing to meet me tomorrow?”

“No. No, sir.”

After all, he had just ordered the servant, so how could he know Serena’s intentions? Though extremely disappointing, this place was nothing more than an annex where Serena was not staying.

“Acting Duke… That is, Her Highness will get up in the morning.”

“I know, I saw her this morning.”

“No, not that… She gets out of bed and starts working immediately after dawn, like the men.”
