Since the somewhat stubborn Kwon Yool did not budge, Seo Yeon, who was trying to get him up, had no choice.

“I warned you. Don’t say I didn’t tell you I was heavy.”

Seo Yeon hesitated before clinging to his shoulders.

Then, Kwon Yool effortlessly picked up Seo Yeon and stood up.

“You don’t even feel heavy. We could even run like this. Should we try?”

When Kwon Yool suddenly picked up the pace, a startled Seo Yeon clung tightly to his back.

“Ah, you win, you win! I’m as light as a feather. OK? Stop, it’s tiring.”

A satisfied Kwon Yool slowed down, and Seo Yeon’s small feet tapped lightly against his thighs.

The invigorating morning air and the all-too-warm body heat from Kwon Yool.

Seo Yeon leaned her cheek against his broad back and thought.

If happiness wasn’t such a grand thing, maybe she was happy right now.

She wanted to tell him that it felt good to be at this special place filled with memories.

Suddenly, Seo Yeon’s entire being felt as if it was covered with a soft blanket.

“Seo Yeon.”

Her name resonated from his back, vibrating softly like a calm ripple.

“Speak.”

Wanting to hear more of his voice, Seo Yeon pressed her own cheek.

“I’m happy.”

Kwon Yool expressed the emotion Seo Yeon was currently feeling.

“I really wanted to tell you this, Seo Yeon. I’m very happy right now.”

“Really?”

Seo Yeon, who had been leaning against Kwon Yool’s back, sat up to ask.

“I’m happy just being with you like this.”

At that, Seo Yeon smiled softly.

He also smiled, pleased with the warmth of Seo Yeon’s breath on his neck.

“Yool.”

“Yes?”

“Open your mouth and say ‘ah.'”

“Why?”

“Did you secretly eat candy? Why are you only picking sweet words to say?”

Seo Yeon searched his cheek with her hand as if looking for candy.

“Ah, it tickles. I’ll fall.”

Then Seo Yeon sat up and whispered into Kwon Yool’s neck.

“I’ll have to check your mouth carefully when we get into the car later.”

Seo Yeon ended her sentence by lightly pressing her lips against where her lips touched.

Monday morning.

Seo Yeon arrived at work earlier than usual.

Of course, there was a special reason.

Someone seemed to be pressing on her solar plexus, making her feel stifled.

And then an uncomfortable feeling followed her around like a tag.

It wasn’t that things were bad between her and Kwon Yool.

They had spent a warm time enjoying a date over the weekend that they had postponed for so long.

However, something in the corner of her heart felt heavy as if she needed to verify and resolve it.

Knock knock.

Secretary Choi, whose knocks were always precise, entered for the Monday report.

Seo Yeon barely listened to the unremarkable report, engrossed in one thought.

“Secretary Choi, I’m thinking of conducting interviews with the interns in turns.”

“Interviews?”

“Yes. There was homework I gave last time. Could you tell them to come up as soon as they arrive?”

The sudden instruction made Secretary Choi’s eyes busy.

“Yes. Who should go first?”

“Intern Park Sia. As soon as possible, please.”

After exchanging formalities, Secretary Choi left, and a knock was heard again within 10 minutes.

“Come in.”

Sia, dressed in a sophisticated oversized shirt, cautiously entered.
“Please have a seat.”

With a warm smile, Seo Yeon led the way, and Si Ah followed her and sat down neatly.

Seo Yeon wanted to bluntly ask her how she knew Kwon Yool as soon as she saw her.

However, she couldn’t do that, considering her position as the director.

Seo Yeon briefly reviewed her resume and asked the newcomer about her constructive goals and thoughts.

The way her eyes sparkled as she expressed her convictions was so charming that even another woman couldn’t help but be attracted.

Eventually, Seo Yeon blurted out what she had really been curious about.

“Is it because Ms. Si Ah is so cool? I saw you with a boyfriend looking affectionate last Friday night.”

‘Han Seo Yeon. You’re really childish. What are you doing questioning a kid like that?’

Seo Yeon scolded herself for sneakily observing the newly hired intern but waited for her answer nonetheless.

“Last Friday night? Um… I don’t have a boyfriend.”

At her words, Seo Yeon sighed in relief for a moment.

Then she repeated to herself ‘So it is’ several times and quickly got rid of the anxious feelings.

“Oh, I see. I happened to see you while leaving work and thought you were with your boyfriend because you two looked affectionate.”

Seo Yeon fumbled for words, and the girl slightly tilted her head.

Then her eyes widened.

“Oh! You could definitely see it that way, director. He’s a bit far-sighted.”

He? A teacher…or not?

Seo Yeon pressed her thumbnail into the back of her hand and asked calmly.

“You seemed to have a considerable age gap. Eh. A friend… it’s not that, right?”

“We’re friends. Our mothers are rivals, so our birthdays are only a few days apart.”

Hearing her say they were friends, Seo Yeon wondered if her ears were broken.

“I guess I haven’t dated for so long that I mistake anyone who talks affectionately as lovers. I’m sorry.”

“No, it’s okay, director.”

“But it’s really interesting that you’re friends.”

Seo Yeon was extremely curious about how they could be friends.

With a trembling heart barely under control, Seo Yeon subtly released her curiosity.

And then the girl took the bait Seo Yeon had thrown.

A torrent of information poured out of Si Ah’s mouth, more than Seo Yeon could handle.

‘Calm down. She just said they were friends. There’s no concrete proof that it’s Kwon Yool. It could be someone else.’

Seo Yeon clung to that slim hope and did her best to lift the corners of her mouth.

“You’re different because you’re a student at Korea University.”

“I’m from Korea University too, but I’m nothing compared to him. He’s a completely different being. It’s like he was born to be number one.”

Seo Yeon didn’t forget to respond with appropriate compliments and reactions to hear more from Si Ah.

“Oh, is that so?”

“Wait a minute! I’m boasting about something that isn’t even my achievement.”

Si Ah pulled out her cellphone, which was sticking out of her pocket, and started typing.

“Director, look at this. It’s inspiring to have such a person as my friend.”

Seo Yeon’s shaky eyes were glued to the phone screen.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
