“Mother!”

Kicking the laboratory door as if breaking it, William rushed in, and there was the familiar figure of Guinevere with the same face.

Turning around slowly, Guinevere furrowed her brows and said, “This time too…”

“Please save her!”

William shouted desperately.

“Save Lara, Mother!”

Even though he knew that Larisa wouldn’t die, he felt desperate.

“Lie her down here.”

Without hesitation, William carefully laid Larisa on the cold and stiff desk. Larisa had already lost consciousness, and her face was pale. William felt like tears were about to fall.

“Step aside.”

William took a step back and watched what Guinevere was doing. As Guinevere cast a spell, a blue magic circle seemed to wrap around Larisa.

Then, once again, Larisa coughed up blood.

“Mother.”

“It’s okay, just shut up.”

William bit his lip until it bled. After a while, Guinevere’s magic was over.

“What did you do?”

“I slowed down the flow of time for Larisa.”

“Can you save her?”

“We’ll find out now.”

Guinevere called for Hedel with her wristwatch and gave various instructions. Soon, Dr. Prosh arrived in haste.

“Over here.”
Doctor Prosh, guided by Guinevere, soon began examining Larisa. He widened her eyelids to check her pupils and opened her mouth, even pinching a piece of paper.

When the paper came out stained black, Dr. Prosh spoke in a grave tone.

“She’s been poisoned.”

“Poisoned?”

“Yes. I don’t know what poison it is, but…”

“Is it impossible to detoxify?”

“There are traces of blood vomiting. How were the symptoms?”

William answered with a trembling voice.

“She had a severe fever. Then suddenly she vomited blood.”

Those were the symptoms that William knew. The symptoms started right after he had a dream. Dr. Prosh furrowed his brow, seemingly dissatisfied with the limited information.

“We need to check if her organs are damaged. I have to touch the patient’s body. Is that okay?”

Dr. Prosh was asking William. William replied almost absentmindedly.

“Huh? Yes. Yes.”

“I will undress her.”

William turned away unintentionally. While standing anxiously with Larisa on his back, Dr. Prosh continued his diagnosis.

“I would need to perform an autopsy to know the details, but it seems like her lungs are significantly corroded.”

“No autopsy. We have to save her somehow. Use all the healing potions you have for now.”
“If you use a healing potion like this, the wounds will heal, but she will suffer permanent lung damage. Lord Rodante, as you know, healing potions only maximize natural healing capabilities and do not regenerate severed limbs, for instance. And right now, this magic is…”

“It’s a time-delaying magic.”

“If I undo this magic, she might die immediately.”

William’s legs gave out, and he collapsed.

‘Why am I so afraid?’

This is just a dream. Just glimpses into a vanished past. Yet an overwhelming fear engulfed him. The excruciating pain as if his heart were tearing apart was an added torment.

“William, leave.”

“But, Mother.”

“You’re in the way. Get out. I will do whatever it takes to save Larisa.”

William fled the laboratory as if running away. Gasping for breath, he passed through the corridor, feeling the strange gazes of the wizards who were still in the mansion.

In his past life, he hadn’t driven away the wizards. William hoped to wake up from the dream soon. However, as time passed, he still didn’t wake up from the dream.

Finding refuge in his room, William closed the door and slumped down like flowing water.

“This must be a dream.”

But it was excessively vivid and painful. Larisa’s warm body temperature, her feverish moans, the sticky blood – everything.

“Wake up already.”
Despite having an adult body, William, whose mental age was still just a 14-year-old boy, couldn’t overcome excessive fear and began banging his head against the wall.

It was a way to wake up from the dream, but it appeared strange to others. Hedel, who had come after receiving messages from other wizards, shouted.

“William, are you out of your mind? Snap out of it!”

Hedel grabbed William’s collar.

“Let go of this!”

“Your lover isn’t dead yet. Especially at times like this, you need to pull yourself together!”

“This is a dream!”

Slap! A flame ignited on William’s cheek. He raised his head dazedly. Hedel had just slapped him.

“I told you to pull yourself together.”

Hot tears streamed down his cheek. Hedel sat down in front of the bewildered William and sighed.

“Sorry for hitting you. While the master is somehow holding Larisa’s time, you need to find a solution. William, do you understand what I’m saying?”

“Me?”

“Yes. Find a way to save her. Whether it’s magic or alchemy. Find what you can do.”

“How can I…”

“You must. Are you going to leave Larisa to die like this?”

Leaving the vacant William behind, Hedel left. Even though William knew it was a dream, he started searching through alchemical books frantically.

‘Can’t we replace melted organs with mechanical devices?’

After an unknown amount of time spent searching through the books, his mother entered the room.

“Are you having your meal?”

“Mother.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
