Miss Pendleton (Update to C.222 END) - Chapter 150
Simple Daniel was quickly persuaded by Laura and overcame his fear of boarding school. By the time he left, the boy only regretted having to part with his aunt and family, but he headed to school without much reluctance.
After Daniel’s departure, George caused barely half the trouble he used to. Perhaps it was because the older brother he used to play pranks with was gone.
George missed his brother, but he was also secretly glad he was away. The rival for his aunt’s attention had disappeared. While romping through the forest with his aunt, George could have her all to himself. For a young boy, there was no greater joy.
After Laura delivered gifts and a light conversation about her London visit concluded, she and George held hands and went to play in the forest. Olivia, utterly enchanted by the hat Laura had brought, went upstairs to her room to find a dress to match it, while Mr. Fairfax, donning his new hunting gloves, headed to the game preserve. Only Ian and Mrs. Fairfax remained in the drawing room.
Mrs. Fairfax toyed with the brooch she had received as a gift.
“My goodness, how could anyone choose something so refined?”
“Laura picked it out.”
“Of course your wife did. You always buy things that are supposedly good for health. Such a dull boy.”
Mrs. Fairfax pinned the brooch onto the thick shawl she was wearing. The elegant yet restrained design complemented her plain appearance and simple attire without any discord.
“I love it. I must thank Laura again before she leaves.”
Seeing his sister delighted with his wife’s gift, Ian felt a warm satisfaction.
“So, what did the Londoners say about Laura, now Mrs. Dalton?”
“No one chattered openly, but they looked at her as if she were Her Majesty the Queen.”
Mrs. Fairfax gave a sly smile, her mocking expression an exact mirror of her younger brother’s.
“Laura’s the same person she was as a maiden, but now that she’s Mrs. Dalton, they see her worth.”

Cold Male Lead Became My Clingy Husband (Female-Dominant)
Feng Bai Su transmigrated into a matriarchal novel, becoming the sister of the female protagonist and the Seventh Princess of the Feng Ling Kingdom.
After working herself to death in her previous life, finally reincarnating as a princess, she only wanted to be a lazy fish who could eat, sleep, and play.
Until she met the male protagonist from the book, Wei Jing Mo, and he took a liking to her!
Wei Jing Mo is the top young man in Feng Ling City, talented in both appearance and ability, from a prestigious family, with a cold and otherworldly appearance, a figure like the bright moon in the hearts of noble ladies. It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?
Short scene 1:
Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.
Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?
Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?
Short scene 2:
Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”
Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.
Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”
Wei Jing Mo: “…”
A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
