“It’s a shame that you couldn’t eat the biscuit that I prepared with care. I’ll send it again.”

“It’s okay. Anyway, I don’t like biscuits, so I always use them for guest hospitality.”

At the mention of guest hospitality, Louis’s face faltered again, but Latil pretended not to notice and kept her gaze on the stairs.

“Anyway, why did you call me? I have something to do, so I need to go quickly.”

At that, Louis smiled brightly.

“There’s a festival soon.”

As soon as she heard that, Latil figured out what Louis was up to. He’s planning to embarrass her after inviting her to the festival.

“As a guest of Her Majesty, you are staying here, so you will naturally attend the party on the festival day, right?”

“I guess I have to go if I’m invited.”

Even though he is planning something using the party, Louis frowned again at the thought that Latil would attend the party, but he quickly returned to normal.

Latil sighed inwardly. You don’t like that I’ll attend your party? I don’t like it either. I want to solve my problem quickly and go back home. Please.

“But why? Do you have something to say to me about the party…?”

“I want to apologize for the past incident and lend Sadi a dress.”

“A dress?”

“I heard that Sadi did not bring her own clothes.”

What’s he planning to do with the dress? When Latil did not respond easily, Louis kindly added with a smile.

“If you’re worried, you can look at the design first and decide. It’s okay.”

Despite him saying it’s okay, because Louis kept insisting, in the end, Latil made an appointment with Louis to choose a dress and parted.

When she went to find Hyacinth, Hyacinth, as if he had already heard their conversation, asked her nervously as soon as he saw Latil.

“Are you really going to wear the clothes chosen by the Empress’s maid? It won’t be for a good purpose.”

“I can’t say no when I’m here as a guest.”

“Just say no. I’ll send you some.”

“I’m fine. I’ll avoid a confrontation and just roll smoothly and leave. I don’t want to attract attention by fighting with the maidservants. If I wear the dress you send, the rumors will only get bigger.”

That way, even after the problem is resolved and she returns, there would be no talk left about ‘Sadi’ here.

Although Hyacinth seemed not to understand all of Latil’s intentions, he didn’t probe further but went straight to the point.

“Then you said you had something to ask me. What is it?”

“I saw a strange monster roaming around here at night.”

“A monster?”

“It wasn’t a monster at first. He was dressed in bright clothes and looked like a person, though fog sprouted from his footsteps. But when he saw me, he opened his mouth wide and rushed at me, his mouth was ridiculously large. Do you know such a monster?”

“From your description, I don’t know any such monster.”

As Hyacinth leaned his head, Latil borrowed a pen and paper from him and quickly sketched the monster she had seen.

“I heard that Crown Prince Heum keeps appearing to your empress. I was wondering if this monster could be him.”

The monster drawn by Latil wasn’t very detailed or sharp, but it was enough to recognize its physical characteristics.

Hyacinth closely examined the picture that Latil had drawn, soon crumpling the paper as he muttered.

“So it’s Heum.”

“What do you think the motive is?”

“Either my neck or child. Maybe both.”

“Do we not need to catch him? He seems to wander around here every night. Doesn’t it make you uncomfortable? He could be plotting something.”

“No one besides the Empress and you have seen him. Others don’t even believe the Empress’ words about Heum wandering around.”

“So, you’re going to leave it like this?”

“If your side, the black magician or something, becomes public, we plan to publicize ours as well. What about you?”

“I’m waiting for a contact from someone who can help my return.”

Latil scowled and grumbled, “I hope he comes before the party.” Hyacinth smiled as if he understood what she meant.

“You confidently said that you could wear the dress the Empress’ maid gave you. But it seems to bother you?”

“Of course.”

Latil grumbled about the stale snacks Louis had given her. All this time, Hyacinth had just watched Latil chatter.

At first, Latil didn’t care whether Hyacinth was looking at her or not. But as Hyacinth only stared at her without saying a word, she gradually lowered her voice as she became conscious of his gaze.

Eventually, she stopped speaking altogether. Latil, who looked at Hyacinth, was embarrassed to read affection in his eyes.

Just looking at her. There was a warm aura in his eyes. Latil eventually got up, flustered.

“I’ve said everything, so I’m going.”

Having finished her words, Latil quickly turned around.

“I’ll see you off.”

“I’m good.”

Latil cut off sharply, but Hyacinth followed her.

“I said I’m good?”

“I have to go downstairs too.”

“…”

“Special envoy. Do you intend to tell the emperor to follow behind?”

As Latil glared, Hyacinth backed off with a big grin and stepped to the side.

“Is this distance okay?”

As Latil walked away instead of answering, Hyacinth interpreted it as okay and walked in the same direction, keeping a distance.

Their walking speed matched, so their footsteps continuously synced. Latil walked without a word, just looking down at the ground.

But why were there so many stairs, and why was the hallway so long? Why did their footsteps match so well as they walked?

After walking for who knows how long, Hyacinth muttered as if talking to himself in a dispirited voice.

“We were together every day during our study abroad. How did we end up like this?”

“You betrayed me.”

“… I still think. If you had received all the letters I sent you, would things have been different now?”

Letter. Come to think of it, someone had stolen the letters. She had forgotten due to the huge incident that unfolded. Latil asked with a bitter smile.

“Did you find out who stole it on your side?”

“Count Da. How about you?”

“I was still investigating. In the midst of the investigation, the situation….”

She was about to say that she hadn’t been able to grasp the progress because things had blown up, when Latil remembered something her mother had explained during the situation. It was a part that had felt a little strange at the time. She stopped dead in her tracks.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
