La Til tightly held Tashir’s hand as they walked, occasionally turning back to look. Each time, Tashir smiled reassuringly as if to say everything was fine.

“Hielan. Are you here? Hielan.”

Upon arriving at Tashir’s quarters, she passed the room Hielan usually used and headed toward the adjacent one, glancing sideways at Tashir more often.

“The room… changed, didn’t it?”

Tashir, who had been following along as if nothing was wrong, this time looked bewildered, alternating his gaze between Hielan’s old room and the current one.

While they stood there, the door clicked open even before they could knock, and Hielan stepped out.

Having sensed their presence, Hielan emerged—but the moment he saw Tashir, his pupils widened as large as walnuts.

“Hielan!”

Tashir spread his arms to embrace Hielan, but Hielan immediately turned around and even fled hastily back into the room.

Tashir, embarrassed, waved his arms in the air for a moment before muttering to La Til.

“Hielan… ran away?”

“Come in.”

La Til took Tashir’s awkward hand and entered the room, closing the door behind them.

Tashir glanced once at the closed door, then turned his head to look around the room, his gaze finally stopping at the window—which had been remodeled to be as small as possible.
