Men of the Harem (137 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 22
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
La Til paced around the room for another fifteen minutes or so before stepping out into the corridor. Though it was night, the hallway was romantically lit thanks to lanterns hung at regular intervals.
The night air was cool, but a pleasant breeze blew, and the chirping of insects could be heard here and there. As she passed the artificial lake, the gentle sound of flowing water reached her ears.
Walking absentmindedly, La Til stopped for a moment at the colonnade and gazed at the lake. That artificial lake. She had once played there, splashing water with Hyacinth, only to be scolded by the Chief Attendant after getting caught.
“……”
Between the soaked brown hair, the gray eyes that appeared shone beautifully, like sunlight scattering on water. He had smiled brightly smiled and knocked on La Til’s heart.
Her heart ached sharply. But it was only for a moment. Soon the thought “What am I doing?” brought a wave of regret, and La Til took a deep breath. He’s a man who left. A married man. I decided to forget him.
La Til pressed both cheeks hard with her hands, then deliberately forced a wide grin. The knight who had been watching the whole scene thought the emperor was acting strange but did not voice it.
Having thus organized her feelings, La Til entered the harem.
Calain was standing in the hallway between the doors—between the bedroom and the outer door. Unlike with Ranamun, he seemed to have come out in advance after receiving notice.
La Til almost said “You came out to wait?” but, seeing him, smiled awkwardly instead. Come to think of it, this would be the first words they exchanged. Wouldn’t any random remark be a little inappropriate?
As she silently stared for a moment, Calain held the door open with one hand. Once she entered, he closed it himself. Then he stood in front of the door and looked at La Til with intense eyes.
It wasn’t that he was putting strength into his gaze. She knew that perfectly well. Yet his eyes were strangely intense. The green irises looked more sinister than warm.
La Til stared at him blankly, then swallowed dryly. She had already admired the portrait, but that painting hadn’t even captured ten percent of this man’s sex appeal.
He truly… truly exuded a sexy aura.

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)
One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.
On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.
Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.
News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.
Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.
But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.
The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.
The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”
So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.
She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.
*
After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.
Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.
Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.
She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.
“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
